I'll see if it works tomorrow. Jetta might end up in a ditch tomorrow.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Haha good call, especially if working solo.

I wonder if you could use a kazoo, hmmm.

Good luck Cody! Trade in the Jetta for a supercharged Corrado, then you only have to rebuild the engine every 40-50k

I never realized just how useless most degrees where until I started college. Connections and networking mean soooo much more in the long run.

found out the mark was incorrect for the timing, now at tdc.

but it seems the distributor is 180 off, and i can't find a way to adjust it..
from my understanding it still should start even with this though.

    idfk. who wants a jetta?

    Fucking frustrating.

With the engine at TDC, pull the cap and mark the rotor's position. Loosen the hold down bracket and slowly pull the whole distributor out and rotate it 180°. When you put it back in, spin back about 45° ccw, so when the teeth engage, it should seat about 180° from you original mark.

so the distributor would not budge. i tried and tried to remove it. no go.

my brother gave me the idea of just moving the wires temporarely. which i did, and it starts!!! thank fucking god. this will just be a temporary solution, if i even keep the vehicle.

but its pulling a code, which leads to my next question..

does any one have a code reader?

Autozone should be able to read the code for you.

I'm just going to throw this up here real quick. Driving back to Oregon next month. I have some stock sport suspension parts. Anyone interested in them at all? Figured it would save someone any shipping costs that would come with buying from someone else.

How many miles? Condition? Pictures? How much? I'm mainly interested in front shocks+coils and rear leaf springs. Thanks :)

Right under 50k with very mild offroad. Springs in the rear could probably use a helper now. All great condition. Ill pm you pictures and price later tonight. Ill be in the Salem area but can stop by Beaverton on our way through pdx.
