Around here bicyclists can and do get ticketed which they should, one jackass is getting prosecuted for manslaughter because he hit a guy in a crosswalk on a fixie. They have a right to use the roads and they must obey the laws. What pisses me off is inattentive drivers who put us at risk because of their behavior. Failing to stop at crosswalks, right turns in front of me. I don't go flaunting an attitude because I'm on a bike but if you put my life in danger I'll return the favor.

I'd LOVE to see a pesky cyclist ticketed for casually riding through a red light.

I get what your saying, but at the times I saw them, going to work / coming home. Sidewalks where empty. And most around here ride mountain bikes or hybrids, which could take a bump or too. It wasn't the people who got killed fault either. Infact one was a hit n run. Just saying, is it worth your life also, to avoid a bump or two, and to go around people? Not to me. I did just fine staying on sidewalks, so its not like I'm saying it with no experience of my own.

Thank you, all I ask is that you pay attention and don't put my life in danger. I have no problem obeying the traffic laws and in a lot of places, it's either not safe or practical to ride on the sidewalk and a lot of place forbid it.

wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle should be a choice. IMO

as should riding a motorcycle. seatbelts also should be a choice.

same in FL. kids under 16 is law. and a stupid law IMO.

seat belts are law...stupid. because I have to wear a seatbelt in my car/truck...but I don't have to wear a helmet on a motorcycle.

IMO, if you choose to not wear a helmet the hospital should be able to refuse treatment.

Can't totally disagree with you on the premise that we could just let Darwinism do it's thing.
