I agree the DCLB is probably not best suited for extreme off road like a SB, but if the locker had been an option for the Sport it would be on my truck. There are times it would be nice to have. Considering ARB, but a lot to think about with that decision.

Because the only person man enough to drive a DCLB with a hood scewp AND a factory locker is Chuck Norris.

Seriously though, I wheel the hell out of my truck and have no complaints about its length.

If you're going "hardcore" offroad, the tacoma isn't the truck of choice anyway. I still offroad mine through some difficult stuff. The length is a little awkward sometimes. I am going to lock it up though. Definitely will be a massive difference.

When we all went to Moab for the Taco Takeover, I got through tight spots much easier than the long beds. It's surprising what a difference those 12" make. It's not impossible to wheel them, but tight spots are more challenging.

Oh and Oz is right. There are DCSB Sports, though not very many.

    A few bolts are different.
I have been in spots where the 12" will bite me in the ass and I have been in spots where the extra wheelbase and locker have made things much easier. You just have to be aware you drive a 17 foot long vehicle. The locker was in my opinion the best money I have spent on my truck. Makes me want a front one also. "Unstoppable limo"

DCLB 6spd with e-locker is what I would have preferred, but, hey, why offer what we want, right? Kinda like the crewcab hiluxes that were sold elsewhere in the world starting in 1984, yet it was 2001 before the doublecab hit our market. Rant off, hijack over.

That sucks. I love the DCLB all day and it will be my next truck. Although, I think the SR5 is all I would ever want. Everything else I want can be added cheaper and how I want

Have you guys look at AWSUMDC's videos on youtube. It's highly modifed but still a DCLB. And yes they do make a DCLB with Elockers. On the 2011 model its called the TRD Sport upgrade package. Basically the looks of a TRD sport with the suspension of the TRD Offroad. The DCLB Sport Upgrade also has a tighter turning radius.

    Wat?

The only difference between a Sport and a Sport Upgrade are the hideous "chrome" wheels. The suspension is the same. The turning radius is the same. It does not have an e-locker, it has e-LSD which is FAR from the same thing.
