My truck saved my life. I lost control on ice, went into the ditch ugly, and rolled my sweet taco. Zero hurts and as I sit here with the police officer, I'm thanking my God for preserving me completely. The truck is wrecked. It's night but I'll get some pics when the tow truck gets here. I'm gonna get me another one, its simply the best truck for my needs. Lets hear it for the toughest truck on the planet.

Gonna have to change your location to: "Beside the road less travelled." :D Good thing you are OK, but I bet you'll be sore tomorrow or the next day, so take it easy. You'll be livin' up to your name.

Without knowing all circumstances, let this me a reminder to all that the season for winter driving conditions is here, and nothing is so important that we can't slow down as needed.

Well folks, it has been a most exciting night! The rain clouds have passed, my truck is chained to a deck, and the northern lights have come out to celebrate my continuing life. I have my gear strapped into a co-workers truck and we are continuing to the job site. Loving life in the oil fields eh. I'll be in awe of this night for a long long time. Quite humbling when life gives you a free turn.

Beside the road less traveled for sure. Lol :D It looked like a party for a bit in that stretch of highway. A Chevy slid into the ditch 50' past me and a Ford went in on the other side of the road. All this happened on a stretch of highway about 20 minutes south from Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway.

You're alright. That's all that matters.

So I'm guessing that this happened just outside Dawson Creek? I'm going to be driving the Alaska Highway again in a few days.

I think a lot of people underestimate how isolated that road truly is. How are the road conditions?

Take a breath. Grab a beer.

Ya, just outside Dawson, there was a tanker full of oil flipped on the other side of town. Road mayhem everywhere tonight. Rain, ice, and strong winds. Hope it's calm and dry when you travel. Broken steel gets replaced, broken people get remembered.

Hooray for being okay! What a scary place to end up in the ditch! I agree, be careful and don't push it too hard the next couple days!

Wow! That was a close call... Quite a testament to how the Taco holds up under that kind of crash. Do you know about how fast you were going?

60 mph, went in sideways, did a full 1 1/2 turns then settled back onto the drivers side facing the direction I had come from.
