They did... and that auburn defense was a middle of the road SEC defense that year, I believe. They had a beast (Nick Fairley), but I don't remember there being anything else special on that side of the ball.

Oregon's offense is better this year than they were that year. Our defense is better than that year's auburn D.... So who knows?

I've said that ND could jump Oregon and K State if they remain undefeated, but after a 3OT win over Pitt this weekend, Brad Edwards says that there are several voters who put ND behind a 1 or more 1-loss teams. If that's true, then I don't see the voters turning around and voting them above the other two.

 

No, it has to do with the fact that everyone in the ACC has lost to someone in the ACC. And #10 Florida State and #13 Clemson are the only teams in the Top 25

 

Not sure why he's so upset... I didn't think ACC fans even cared about ACC football. Miami fans clearly don't give a shit...

I would like to see it. But when winning teams outside the SEC plays teams in the SEC they get beat. So without offending anyone thats my point of view. But i would like to see Oregon and Bama.

The thing we said before the season started was USC's recievers are tall and fast and will outplay our defensive backs. Looks like we called that right.

I think Bama would slow our offense down also (not stop it). We would need to score every posession and have zero turnovers. Bama's running would prob beat up our defense also!!!

I just want to see it!! Win or lose I don't give a shit. I think it would a better matchup than the other top teams.

The "We are SC" crowd is surely wondering now if Lane Kiffin is the future of the program, this after loss No. 3 in a season the Trojans entered ranked No. 1 in the polls. But really, what could Kiffin do? His offense slapped 51 points on the board and never had a chance.

The question now is, does anyone?

Going into Saturday, the obvious answer was Alabama. But after struggling to hold back an LSU team whose offense is as explosive as a golf clap, it's clear the Tide are not the world-beaters we thought they were. (Somewhere, Steve Spurrier is chuckling about that.)


But if there is a team that can slow the Ducks, Alabama is it. And if there is a team that can slice through the stiff 'Bama defense, it's Oregon.
