    So.... Giant sucks again.

Their shackles must be mounted way differently than mine because they just suck.

They hit the leaf right here, even at this angle.

So anyway, did some major modification to the shackles.
    Front and back.

And I may still have to cut that little bar out.
Heres where the shackles hit now. If I cut the rest of the shackle out it might be fine.

Its just touching and heres where my tires are.

So I want to try to get more up travel. Should I cut the rest of the shackle out and live with it being really close? Or I could move my shackle mounts back on the frame.

well i dont know much about LT stuff, but being a mechnical engineering student, i know that you want things to be very rigid, especially a suspension part on a LT rig. if you cut that little part off, it will reduce the rigidity of it and it may fail quicker over time.

Cutting that piece out doesn't really matter at all. So chop it.

I would recommend you add some side supports (on the outer side) of each piece. 1 or 2 pieces of plate perpendicular to the shackle surface.

As for moving your shackle pivot point I don't recommend it. Assuming you have set up at 52.5" already.

    Gussets!

Yeah I have the 52.5". And I started cutting material for gussets... like you told me to... way back.:D
I'll cut the rest of the shackle then I should get a little closer to the fenders.

    ^Thanks guys.

I'm just throwing out the old shackles and making new ones. It'll be better in the end.

    Alright, new shackles.

No gussets because they're made of 3/8" plate. Should be tough enough.

And heres where the leafs hit the frame.

I'll probably bump here. If I want to get more up travel I'll have to move my shackle mounts back on the frame.

Can you post a picture from underneath showing the spring and shackle?
When I had my f67's, the tires tucked all the way up inside the bedsides and actually touched the top of the fenderwells. Rub marks to prove it.
