Our license allows us to kill 2 bucks. One any size, one 4 points or more on one side. I think I've talked about this before, but the "poachers" here are awful, because they know there's only 1 DNR officer and they'll more than likely get away with it. No one follows that rule on the license. It sucks, because it's there to help grow bigger deer. But it's the truth. No one follows it. That doesn't make it right, but that's where the "if he didn't take it, the next guy would have" comes from.

I'll kill my 2 bucks...if one is 4 or more on one side. Like the law states. I'm friends with the DNR officer, and would like it to stay that way. But I don't have a problem killin a small buck either. To each their own. I'll kill whatever my license allows

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
my area of SC has unlimited bucks, 2 does per day on doe days, and you can buy 4 doe tags to kill does any other time. full season for bows/muzzle/rifle goes from Aug 15-Jan 1. the deer are still rampant down here.

ya. we have days(goes by unit) that you can kill a doe and a buck in the same day. state is divided into 4 units. we can take any size buck.. also we have archery is from like september till today, today is last day of archery. muzzleloader opens tomorrow and is open for 2 weeks. than gun/high power rifle(you can use a muzzleloader or bow if you want) that end jan 6th. you can only take 3 bucks a year. but if you take does when you can you and are doing it for the meat and controlling heard, you can have quite a bit of meat in the freezer.

my goal is to only shoot a buck with 4 points on one side, thats just me. i would rather see more large rack deer. we all have different goals, and its legal to shoot a spike here in mich. many do, its there legal right and i have no problem with that. different strokes for different folks. we have tons of doe's here, i'll take 4 doe's every year and let the small bucks walk.

I let small bucks and does walk. We can't kill anything with less than 3 on one side. Even a real small 6 can keep walkin. I'd rather kill a 50 ringer

Good kill! Where I'm at that deer would be considered meat on the hoof. He looks to be at least 3, and has yet to grow any brow tines, not good IMO. That deer was probably a spike the year before, and might be a 6 next year, but he'll likely still lack brow tines. If people want to see bigger deer, you have to cull out the smaller ones at a younger age so they aren't breeding their genetics all over the place. Saddest thing I ever saw was a 5-6 yr old buck with 16" spikes

I thought the same thing. I even mentioned it in Live when someone said it needed 3 more years. I figured he was around 3 years old also.

but i did see 12 deer this morning, 2 bucks sparred a lil bit down behind some brush. and i know there is atleast 2 more good bucks in the area.
this is why around here if you see a buck you take him, so many hunters per sq mile you likely never see it again, luckily ive known him since highschool and even though we hunt seperate tracts it's still the same deer, but atleast he got him not any of the random hunters i dont know around here..
