Hi, I have the vip rs3200+ on my tacoma 08 but when I lock or unlock the door there's no beep, and I have search how to enable the beep sound because I want to hear that to be sure my taco is lock. Do you know if there's a way to make it beep. Many thanks

Not sure the model but I had the dealer install an alarm and it does the same thing. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that without the alarm installed the keyless entry makes a little beep, but the alarm replaces that by blowing the horn when arming and disarming which is irritating as hell. I turned the horn blasts off and now only get the light flashes to show I've pressed a button.

Thanks for the correction. I've heard other toyotas make polite little beeps when the keyless was used and assumed that was a factory sound.

    You are sort of correct...

My 04 tacoma made the polite little beep with lock and un-lock. My mother's 05 Solara makes the polite beep as well. My 07 tacoma does not. I am not sure at which point and on what models they have done away with the beep, but the ones you are hearing on other toyotas are factory.

Not sure about your link, I believe I have seen in a toyota forum how to enable or disable this beep sound when you have the vip rs3200 installed on your toyota, do you have an idea?

The link is for people without an alarm and want some sort of audible confirmation with the stock keyless entry that does not beep. You can buy a box to splice into a couple wires to have a lock/unlock chirp.

Thanks for your help and links, do you think if I disconnect the battery the beep will be here?

I'm not sure what you mean. If you have stock keyless entry without ANY kind of alarm there is nothing you can do to get a beep without installing hardware of some sort. (relays to beep the horn, some kind of buzzer, etc)

    With the 3200+ :
1.start with the LED light switch in the off pos, out, turn the ignition key on then off.

    2. within 10 sec, cycle the LED light switch to on then off three times (press and release the switch six times).

    3. If the chirps were off before you started, then you will hear 1 chirp indicating that they have been turned on.

    4. If the chirps were on before you started, then you will hear 2 chirps indicating that they have been turned off.

There are many more options that can be done as well but the programming order is different than what my '99 was. Steps 1 & 2 still turn off the 20 second headlight feature while you arm and disarm. Waiting on a list from the parts guy if he will get it to me. Mine has little chirps and not the loud horn. Hope this helps.

Mine is silent. It flashes the lights, which I could also do without.
Attracting attention is never a good idea.
Ice is on the locks, so using the key is not good.

I do have other things to do.
It looks as though snow plowing with the Taco will be one of them.

Well, I just hadn't seen you in a month so was wondering.... :D

What kind of plow do you have? I want to get a Snow Sport, but I need to budget out the $1300 for it.

I have, and recomend the ACI Snow Sport 180. I put it on the rear reciever hitch. I know how to use mirrors. So I care not which way I`m plowing. And I did not wish to install a front hitch.
The price is negotiable. We agreed to $950. I think I could have payed $900.
Call Karmen Bertsch at 1-800-233-4655. Tell him that you are a friend of COL. Ness, USA.
    The site is agricover.com
I built the frame first, and installed it to get it out of my kitchen.
Then I built the blade. They do not give you torque specs. But you can look them up. I put 120 on the frame. These are grade 8 bolts, The grade 5 bolts take 37 and the grade bolts take 24.
I used red loctite so that I don`t have to re torque them.
I also used rubber cement on the self tapping bolts that go into a 5/16 hole that I had to drill through the aluminium into the rubber.
It is simple and light weight.
I reversed the blade atachment to give me more drop. I may not have need it; but it bites beter.

Thanks! I was looking at the HD, but thinking about saving $300 by getting the 180 instead. I like the side panels on the HD, but just realized they are both the same width. Also the 180 is considerably lighter so that'd be better for the front of the truck I think.

On the other hand, it's $300 more for being able to angle the blade (useful around my house), and having the side panels to push more snow. Not to mention it comes with the front hitch (not sure if the 180 does), and that's $150 or more depending on where you get it.
