Watkins downtown does good work. I wasn't pleased with the work at Foreign Car Body Shop when I took my truck there.

ok guys, need your help and insight on something. my family does the draw a name out of a hat thing for Christmas gifts each year and each person has a $100 limit for gifts. well the issue is I have no clue what I want this year for $100. the rules are, cant be cash, cant be cash valued(no gift cards), cant be used(i.e. no buying off forums or ebay). what are some things for the truck, garage/workshop, or around the house that you can think of for around $100? thanks for the help.

As for me, we can extend the time it will take to get my truck offroad ready. We just found out that it has 4.56 gears in the rear and 3.66 or so in the front.

well got a 3/8 and 1/2" drive torque wrenches. so that is why im not sure, tools i want are way more than $100. got a pretty decent mechanics set already so i should be ok there as well. enough to completely disassemble a honda or the most of my truck that i will ever want to get into.

Friggin sad that $100 doesn't go very far on a gift. I guess it's the whole "difference between men and boys is only the size and price of the toys."

What about some assorted offroad goodies? The ARB tire deflator is moooooney if you've ever aired down with one. They're about $40 or so. Add a nice tree saver, couple of D-rings, maybe a strap. Any combination of those things could get you to $100.

That deflator is the tits though. It pulls the valve core, and you can air down all four tires in less than 5 min, and do it precisely. I've got the little screw on doodads, and they take forever compared to the ARB.

(It's on my crimmus list too, incidentally. I'm in the same boat with all the stuff I want being over $100 as well)

Dave, that sucks about the gears. Not exactly a fun surprise.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.

I have this deflator and its worth every penny. Less than 5 minutes and i'm aired down.

Keith has it right though. Nab one of those "rugged ridge" recovery kits. They usually have gloves, strap, tree saver, snatch block, and d-rings all in a bag for like $100. It may not be ARB quality, but at 1/4 the price plus the fact you may use it all 2-3 times a year and its totally worth it.

On another note. I'm closing on my house tomorrow and the garage door openers don't have remotes. Does anyone have any experience using universal remotes, or have any suggestions for good ones to get?

find out what brand it is, then contact the manufacturer and they will send you new ones that are not very expensive along with an instruction sheet on how to program them and unprogram the old ones. my parents had to do this when my dads old truck got broken into and the remotes were stolen.

I'm living in a rental, put my offer in on a house 3 months ago. I've had a horrendous amount of shit happen while trying to close on this house.

Getting an awesome deal on a government owned foreclosure isn't the easiest thing to go through. Like anything else govt, you give them the information they need, they take a week to review it, and if it isn't good enough, they take another week to tell you. Do that on 3 or 4 forms and bam, theres two months.
