    I do too

but when I get home from CA, i'll be taking it out since I got a good axe (between hatchet and axe actually) and a machete that I keep in there now

    along with a "tire knocker"

i know i wont catch crap here about buying a high dollar AXE. i have a Gransfor Bruks axe waiting for me at the store. it goes on sale nov 10th..alittle on the yuppie, boutique side..but they are the best axe made.

badass. i have a bald spot on my arm from shaving it.

Knives? i am gonna order two CHEAP ass knives..also from sweden. Mora knife. high carbon steel, super sharp..steeped in sword making history. $15 each. cheap enough to flat out abuse. i hurt my good D2 steel knife recently butchering an elk. i had to take it to a pro to resharpen..i fucked it up. i will buy the $15 hunting knives to do the really bad stuff from now on.

    Mora knives are fantastic

it amazes me how great they are for $10-$20 knives

I keep one in each tackle bag, and have a couple spares...one for the boat and one in the kitchen

I'd love to get a GB, but my budget won't allow it....i spend it on knives before I get to the axes lol...So i buy vintage and do restores on them, I get bood axes for cheaper....would still like a GB sooner or later though. I've actually got a plumb hatchet with a really heavy head that I rehandled with a 21 inch handle in my truck, great handy size

If I may ask, whta model GB are you getting?

and a mora is on my list to pick up (actually a couple of them).

i am gonna get the "small forest axe". perfect for MTB trail repair, yard work, big game butchering..and camp wood. it is about $90 with the sale.

i tried and tried to buy a vintage axe. i wanted a Collins boys axe bad. bid on one Ebay. lost it at the last minute,..then i bid on a true temper..lost that bid too. got really frustrating!!

So im looking for a new EDC. Id like to hear what you guys recommend. Im thinking either the Cold Steel American Lawman, a Benchmade Griptillian(there are so many im not sure which one) or the CRKT-M21. I am open to suggestions. Ill do pretty much anything with the knife you can think of. Im fairly new to knives so any info about whats good and whats good is appreciated.

Wasnt sure where else to post this lol, so i thought this was an ok place :notsure:

    Thanks everyone!

all of those are great blades for the price. I used to EDC an american lawman and it's an excellent all-around knife. Sharp as shit straight out of the box and it has one of the best solid lockups I've seen.

It has an excellent all-around shape as well. Large usable belly with a good point

Mine holds its edge really well for an AUS8 knife (IIRC) I ended up using it to cut everything from static rapelling ropes and boat mooring line to thick plastic hosing, and it has no damage at all. Nice corrosion resistance too.

I can sharpen them up to where I can shave with mine, something I can't do with some comparable knives I have

Only my lawman and my benchmade 950 can get sharpened to the point where they can split hair

sharp knives cause less injuries than dull ones. i think it is because a sharp knife takes less effort, so you can control it better.

imagine you need to cut a rope. knife cuts thru easily like butter? or one you really have to lean into and/or yank..? i'll take the light saber please.

i am famous for cutting myself. all my sharp knife cuts heal faster..:D

Finding the knife you want is certainly easier on the internet, but a problem I have is you can't always tell where it's made. I am seriously turned off by a chinese made knife. It's not always as simple as going to a store - other than big name brands, you can't always find specialty stuff locally. Just my opinion I guess.
