    Hey gents,

Do we have a Tennessee classified's thread? It wild be nice to start one up so we can keep stuff local. I mean even a Southeast classified...

I mean I'm always looking to buy/sell something and if we can keep it local we wouldn't have to get railed on shipping and both parties could get a better deal...

Haven't done mine yet. Hopefully this weekend and I will let u know. From everything I hear the ride is awesome and the durability and strength is too. Type in spring refurbishing in search and you'll see the concept and hear from people that have done this mod. You keep your main and secondary springs and replace the others with older chevy leaves. I got an excellent set of leaves off of a '76 Chevy 3/4 ton. Broke the pack down, cleaned 'em up, cut them to size and painted them. Just been waiting for a good weekend to put them in. 1 leaf will yield around 1.5 to 2", 2 will get you a solid 3". The stock Toyota steel sucks, as we all know, and the traditional AAL method will fail over time. Older American steel was superior to anything being produced today and will not sag, even with abuse.

2.5s r bigger in diameter which means more oil capacity and heat dissipation equaling better performance. And they also can handle more weight as Levi said

I personally wouldn't run a 2.0 with a double cab v6. That's a lot of weight ur asking those small shocks to move around. A 2.5 would not only improve the ride quality but the longevity of the shock itself would increase significantly over a 2.0. I mean even people like me with a smaller truck and a 4 banger run 2.5s for the same reasons. Just remember in the shock world u r 99% of the time gonna get what u pay for. 5100 bilsteins r good shocks but r $180 a pair. King 2.5 remote resi shocks are $1000 a pair, they r that much better. For u, it sounds like a King or Fox shock would be a waste of money, if that how's u look at things. Me, I don't think anything is a waste of money if that's what u want.

Soooooooooooo u don't actually know that they r better then allpro huh!? ........

Allpro makes some good stuff, but from what I've read at least, the refurb toyota leaf packs with Chevy springs is better. And, you know, a heck of a lot cheaper. But I'm a cheap-ass. Works out good because I don't have a lot of money to put into my truck:)

You guys are gross. But Weston, I actually have a pretty good chance of getting a job after college. The engineering field is booming, and there are hundreds of companies lined up to find well educated engineers.

I ended up getting a complete OME kit from Wheelers. Opted for the 883 coils and the Nitrocharger Sports. Ill get some pics up soon / make a build thread. Im pretty confident in my choice of suspensions and took into consideration many opinions and my own research. Heres the link if youd like to check out the thread http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/242186-suspension-replacement.html

Also I cant remember the exact posters name but im in the Bristol / TriCities area.

RANT - As for the comment about Obama / the election. IMO the only thing that really matters is that people got out and voted. The younger generation, example around my age / 18 - 25 or so actually showed they do participate and can help to influence and election / back their candidate choice. Regardless of who had won the election I would put my faith in my country and back my President, until he started to adversely try and affect my life or my families' / friends.

Hahaha there's nothin wrong with bein a cheap bastard. But better how!? I have no doubt that the metal itself is better because we all know they don't make stuff like they used to. But I find it hard to believe that those springs flex easier or better then allpros, thicker and tougher metal plus less leafs equals less flex then thinner and more quantity of leafs. I can def see them being better in the payload department but also creating a pretty stiff ride
