That's what I was referring to when I said I wished it'd passed at a federal level. It's not necessarily the legalization that bothers me, it's what it means for Colorado to be the first to do it. Look at Amsterdam, just about everyone I've evern known or ever heard of going there was headed there for one thing; and it wasn't the culture or the history!

alot of you are saying, well what about the people that cant control them selfs and dont smoke in moderation. Well what about alchaholics. I dont see how that is any diffrent. their will be people who can control them selfs and ones who cant. and im not saying it is ok to drive high, because it is definitely dangerous, but i would rather have people drive high than drunk.

According to 64, its up to the business how they deal with drugs, each and every business still has the right to enforce a no drug and zero tolerance policy. That's not going to change.

So you'd take one impaired driver and exchange it for another impaired driver?

Please tell me how the impairment is different...they are both CNS depressant drugs and slow down reaction time and effect your divided attention skills.

From first hand experiances... and second hand observations there is a clear limit the amount thc will effect you were as alcohol will continue to effect your skills and judgement till your inevitable shutdown of major organs.

Personally as a long time smoker and driver ill admit to driving high hell nearly all the time ive been in a few accidents as well each one was caused by distractions and i was completely sober.!! Now most of this might be attributable to chance however i know other people have experianced the same results the minor impaired skills are enough reson to cause paranoid feelings to sst in and cause people to slow down. Its happend to me and ive avoided a large amount of accidents thinking defensively.

Basically im saying this just doesnt happen when your completely drunk hell its almost impossible to string together that sort of thought pattern. I would have to say i would trust my life to someone whos high far easyer i would someone who is drunk.

Also can u explain how i went through a dui check point after just smoking a bowl in the car and after discussing with the officer my night that i hadnt been drinking he let me pass through and told me to get the smell out of the truck...

i would take one impaired over another. Im not saying its not wrong but i feel that weed does not impair you as much as being over the legal alcohol limit does. I am just saying that i feel like it is the lesser of two evils.

I've never been high, I don't wanna be high. I've been drunk and I will not drive drunk.

But impaired is impaired. Ambien, meth, booze, PCP, weed, all drugs that impair your ability.

I personally would not trust my life with someone that is impaired, regardless of your choice of impairment.

If you are impaired, please stay off the roads, we all drive on these roads, our families drive on these roads. If you feel that your ability to drive while impaired on weed is as good or better then your ability to drive sober or impaired on alcohol, go drove on another states roads.

That's my PSA for the day.

    Safe travels.

I agree but there are also people who put countless legal activities (video games, gambling, TV programs, working out, chasing money/work, shoppoing, etc) above their lives and their families... we can't make everything illegal. The problem isn't the drug or the activity.. it's the person. No reason that EVERYONE should be punished for the few that can't regulate their actions.

Yeah, it will shift alright. If you think it's going to go DOWN or AWAY then you're kidding yourself. Once taxes are allowed they only go up. They don't go away. That's the nature if the beast.

    Bingo.

People on either side will claim that whichever side is chosen as the winner your life will change beyond recognition. The truth is that if we got rid of most laws tomorrow save for the actual violent crimes your life wouldn't change hardly any at all. We are a free nation of (somewhat) intelligible human beings who are capable of making their own decisions. When there are no bailouts and handouts people make BETTER decisions. When people don't take responsibility for their decisions and actions we need to attempt to force them into making the right decisions with laws. More bad decisions and more lack of responsibility gets to the point where we have the federal government all the way in Washington DC telling us what we can and can't do in our own homes and even bedrooms. Doesn't sound like a very free country to me.

Yeap. Businesses control their own destiny not the government.
Argument will not work as alcohol is legal today and you are not allowed to drink in most businesses. :)
Note to self - Buy Frito O Lay stock soon! :D
Yeah some good stuff here. Money goes to a good cause which helps all of us to continue off roading like we do today.
    No wild and kinky sex???:notsure:
    What he said. ^^^
Complete agree. Take responsibility for your own actions. Although I think it might be more then a few. :D

Are you suggesting we bring back prohibition? Creating amendments that LIMIT one's personal liberties usually doesn't end well. It was proven once and would be proven again. I think it should be legal. I think most controlled substances should be legal for that matter. All we're doing is creating more criminals, wasting tax payer money that we don't have and creating a black market which then generates the exact opposite of why the laws were allegedly created to begin with.

In the grand scheme.. it really is just a few. When you take it as a percentage on the whole it's a few.

The term 'monitored' is a very specific term and was not my intention. The government does indeed control what you can and can't do in your home and your bedroom. And yes, that thought is scary... just not to most I guess.

Yeah, I honestly didn't read any of it. I wanted to but the ol' ADHD just wouldn't allow w/o some sort of punctuation to separate ideas and thoughts to help get through the whole thing. I wasn't trying to be rude with my statement... just helping someone who may want their post to be actually read by others or they may not have typed it to begin with.
