So I have all the parts, drilled the holes larger in the L-brace but tried to use 1/4 inch to hold the hi lift. Wrong, the jack is too heavy. I am mounting mine to the side rail. Have you noticed any wear behind the mount as it hits the composite wall? Thanks.

damn that was simple! I may try it out, but double up the L brackets to reduce the metal fatigue factor and add some strength...

I have the Hi Lift attachment that you hook on your wheels instead.

I carry a jack stand to put under the axle so that I have a solid (and safe) set up before working on the truck. At least that is my plan, I haven't had to do anything with it yet!

What size are the bolts that are the "pins" for securing the jack to the actual brackets? Did you drill out the bracket any for these bolts?

    Thanks!

"i watched a bunch of the product videos on the Hi-Lift website to make sure that i knew how to properly operate the jack. good thing too, because you can really hurt your self if you dont know what you are doing. so, had to test the jack out..."

Yep, that's why some call it the widow maker. We learned the hard way by not having the door open when lifting and letting it down and now there's a nice door scar...lol

Heads up- the hi lift is heavy as you know. i think it might swing a little when just hanging there.

Yes it can swing a bit. But when I'm off road I usually have so much stuff packed back there it won't have much room to move.

If you've got some strips of thin gauge metal and a way to cut it and weld it or just bend it you can make a pretty decent mount.

    Not to knock yours!

That's the problem. I live in an apt with very few tools. Have to adapt and overcome.
