    it's also because we have summer fuel and winter fuel, and due to all the additives for clean burning. Hence why in arizona it's a whole hell of a lot cheaper! Either way where going to be stuck with the shitty prices and never going to see it come down due to people stopped bitching about it and accepted it. >.<

    Was on vacation in Alberta Canada last week of Sept and was $1.25 per liter equals approx $4.75 per US gal.

    no, ...it's a of a refinery/production emergency that was compounded by kalifornia's stringent regulations/laws... most all other states would have been able to absorb the temporary problem w/out causing a shortage crisis..

    This is crazy!! I just paid $3.19/gal. I can't believe people in the same country have to pay almost $2 more!!! Blows my mind! maybe I don't want West Coast next :-(

    Both answers are partially correct. For most of the country, fuel is available for different seasons (blends). Unfortunately states have their onw blend, so try to imagine all those "Burger KIng" orders going through the pipelines/trailer networks after leaving the refinery. Not pretty and not easy... And any disruption on the distribution change will make prices increase.


    Before anyone jumps at me, I'm an Oil & Gas Revenue Agent for the U.S. Dept of Interior. I earn my living by having to know this things. :cool:
