So I just got American Racing Mojaves for the 09. I have a slight problem, the stock lug nuts are too wide to fit on the mojaves. The guy I have mounting them said i need ones that have a smaller diameter. So I go ahead and order ones from summit racing that will fit. My guy then calls saying that he doesn't think it is safe to mount the mojaves on the truck because he is having to use lug nuts that are not as strong. His point being the stock lug nuts are bigger for a reason, to keep the wheel on better. I was wondering is this true? Are the new lug nuts really less safe. I haven't heard of anyone on hear actually having a problem with their mojaves because of lug nuts. Unfortunately 4 brand new rims are still sitting waiting to be put on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here are the ones I ordered

As long as they are for an Aluminum wheel, you should be fine. Its not recomended to use lugs intended for steel wheels on aluminum ones.

I'm glad i read this! Does it work the other way as well (shouldn't use lugs for alloys with steelies)? When I put on the FJ rims with the FJ lugs, should I used different lugs when I put my steelies on for some offroading?
