So whats the ideal spring rate we're talking here, from what I've seen the 700lbs are the way to go. I couldn't keep everyones names and set up straight while reading. I saw in another forum a guy had 14" kings, will those fit the 2nd gens?? I'm about to order my lift so i need to know what the hell to get. I'm not experienced with shocks and etc. Once this is done I'll order the bumper.PLEASE HELP TW FRIENDS!!!

The 14" 700lbs springs are just to compensate for the weight of the bumper and winch. If opyou don't have a bumper or winch, 700lbs will be way too much up front. If you are buying new, go through DSM, they cans get you the icons with the 700lbs spring now....if that is what you want...

I wonder if the 6" coil from icon would work if left with no pre load a soft spring, and strapped to prevent over extension of the ball joints and cv axle bind. Would be cool to see some measurements on it...

Damn. I wish I would've seen this thread about a week ago. I ordered the standard Icon Extended travel CO's (650lb spring rate) and I have All-pro's plate bumper (150lbs), winch and ATO skid. Thinking I might've made a mistake :(

love the thread, im in the same boat.

so icon NOW has 700lb springs for their extended trav. coilovers? are they 14" as well? or 13" like the stock 650lb springs...

i feel like the 14" would be better, less preload, same ride height (going with the all pro expo leaf pack in the back... MAYBE the standard duty, thoughts? i do plan on loading up the bed, but NOT every day, would it be too ridiculous for a daily driver? would the truck be level?

i was thinking of a shackle flip, then the expo pack, and adjusting the shackle flip to make them as "soft" as possible. what do you think?

With a tube bumper I'd keep the 650 springs.....the 700's without the weight will be stiff as shit regardless of height. Just lower the preload since you have the spindles and enjoy!

I have a pair of very slightly used King 14 in 700 lb Coils for sale $150.00 shipped.
Bought them, installed changed for different shock setup. Any takers? They are $200 bucks new plus shipping from Poly Performance.
