    The girlfriend and I are going camping next week and were planning on going to blue lakes, near south lake tahoe. But I forgot they close the road. Any one have any suggestions near a lake, dogs ok, out of the way?

    I like this thread, just found it so I have some reading to do. I've been camping for many years, I mostly enjoy rock climbing, and mountaineering. But have lately been siding to the easier truck camping. I've been camping in my canopy since I bought the truck and built a raised bed with gear storage underneath (pics to come). I just bought this a couple months ago and it takes truck camping to a whole new level. I'd love to hear if anyone else has one and what cool ideas they have for truck camping. I know this is a shitty pic, I'll see if I can find a better one.

    haven't posted in here in a while. hope everyone is doing good! I picked up a second job which has me working between both jobs about 70 hrs a week. I am moving down to Orlando in late feb early march. It will be an interesting change in camping conditions down there and I certainly wont be camping in the summer the is for sure. Sold both my hammocks since I wont be needing those down there.
