    I bought a pioneer in-dash cd/dvd player for my mustang about 5 or 6 yrs ago around when they first came out. It was the top of the line at the time. Now I have a tacoma and want to put one in it. I noticed that the price of these things have come down a great deal over the years. I paid around $1900 for the one in my car. So I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on the current in-dash players for the tacoma not the flip out ones though. I've mainly been looking at pioneer cuz I was pleased with the one in my car but feel free to leave feedback for other brands.

    If you want nav too, kenwood is hands down the best. Not just the head unit but the garmin navigational system is the best out there

    if ur still looking for the pioneer, check out www.avic411.com. they have everything on every pioneer dvd/nav available. the f-series are good and the z3 is pretty pimp as well. i'm still rollin the ol N1

    What he said!! If your looking for a double din 7" touch screen, look into a Kenwood DNX8120. Had mine for a year now and love it!!

    I have the Kenwood 8120 as well and I waited 5 months for it to come out on the market after reading hundreds of articles on every brand negative/positive feedback. Its got built in navigation with a hard drive (no disc needed) plus its a dual zone. The bluetooth is rated the highest and she's got 5 volt pre outs. Its really nice.

    I was really looking into getting the pioneer 4100 but I read a review on crutchfield that if you bypass the emergency brake feature then you will not be able to have any video playback. The pioneer I have in my mustang was bypassed and the video works fine with the little kill switch hooked up to it. Anyone who knows if this is true or not please let me know. If it is true please recommend sum units that I can use the bypass on. Thanks

    I'm also about to get a Pioneer AVH-P4100, from what I hear you can bypass the video playback with a module you can buy on eBay (I think it ships from Canada). but does anyone know whatsup with Crutchfield sayign that the P4100 will not fit in the Tacoma?

    I went to crutchfield and did the vehicle selector for my 09 DC and it said it would fit for mine.

Sport wheels added.


    amen to that...I hated that in the 90's when everyone was going away from a volumn knob. Glad to see the knob is back.

    Just buy a simple rocker toggle switch from your local parts store. Run your "Parking Brake Wire" to the switch, run a piggy back from the HU ground to the switch, mount switch and enjoy. The P4100 bypass was very easy.

    The JBL requires a conversion kit, probably why Crutchfield says it won't work with the Yota.

    all i had to do to bypass mine was tap the parking bake wire to the chassis ground in the actual wiring harness. never had a prob
