    Colorado is awesome!

I moved here in May 2011 for a job -- I was born and raised in SoCal. Weather is phenomenal, sunshine 300+ days a year, mountains only a stone's throw from the Denver-metro area, great people, etc.

You guys are all nuts. AK is waaaay better than Colorado for getting out into the wilderness quickly. I can be in the mountains in 10 minutes, on the ocean in 15 and everything in between all within an hour from the house. AND they pay us to live here. Just got a check this morning.

But if you're stuck on colorado, I hear really great things. Too hot for me though.

Txs ace! Previously lived in Centennial, but this time around I want to ride my bike to work, so I'll be renting in Lakewood until I buy in Golden.

Right, this Floridian would freeze in less than 20 minutes in AK. No thanks...

I love it here. Moved here from Dallas, TX about 4.5 years ago and couldn't imagine moving anywhere else. Regarding the cost of living, most things are really about the same as most places in the country (gas, groceries, entertainment, insurance, etc.) Sure some are more or less, but it's not really a big deal. Real estate is a bit pricier, but it retains its value. The initial cost of moving here (house) was the hardest part for us. Once we got here, we didn't really see any difference in our monthly budget.

Do it! The wheeling is pretty awesome here, too!

I'd love to live somewhere on the Western Slope. Fruita has some awesome mtn biking trails and Moab isn't very far away. I suppose Grand Junction would be a good home base but I haven't checked out Durango yet... it may be even better.

I love Colorado. Been to Denver, CO springs and a couple of quick stops in teluride and other places. When I retire off the job, that's exactly where i'm headed.

Moving to CO was a ... "maybe on my "bucket list" ... but I like the winters in the SE too ... :D

But ... I would miss the sand on the beach between my toes ... (even though it is 4 hours away from me now) ... :D

Yes, did you read what the DOJ and the DEA, heck even CO's governor said about that?
