I'm 'overpaying' per month at $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 just to get the annoying payments behind me.

    1.9% finance charge as well.

My numbers must be off then, but I wouldn't pay 50k for a Tacoma.

I'm glad you know whats going on haha. Ya I didn't put that much down and the truck wasn't cheap. I'm sure I overpaid and I could have gotten just a Tacoma with the off road package and used the money saved for aftermarket parts but im not a crazy wheeler. So to me I was willing to pay more for the upgraded parts. I'm happy :)

I was thinking it was something up there. I have actually started doubling my payments to try and pay it off faster and pay less in interest over time.

Actually it's only $2237 in interest over the term of the loan for $38k @ 1.9%. $4300 in interest would be assuming that the annual interest is calculated on the initial balance but it's not, It's compounded monthly on the balance as you pay it down.

He financed approximately $45,877. + $2,000 down + $2,542 in interest over the life of the loan. So it cost him $49,519.

Is the $49,519 my loan amount or what I will end up paying. I can tell you how much I paid. Truck was 38k and some change and after tax and license it came out to about 43k and some change.

That's what you will pay over the term of the loan.

$660 per month at 1.89 for 72 months would be a $45877 initial balance.
