    Debadged, Fog light mod,Grillcraft, Icons,TC UCA's, OME dakar leaf pack,Procomp 7089,BFG KM2 285/70/17 JVC NAV
    Has any one painted or "smoked" the chrome ring in the 09 tail lights? I love the LED's Toyota used I just don't like the chrome. I was thinking there must be a way to do it similar to the BLHM mod. Any ideas?:frusty:

    It could probably be done darn close to exactly the same as the BHLM but it'll be the BTLM. Yuck, yuck, yuck. :p

    Without seeing a picture I am speaking out of my ass, but you have to be careful. You can't bake the taillights like you can with the headlights.

    If the chrome is on the outside disregard everything i just said

    i smoked the entire light, not just the chrome....much more subdued than the bling....

    Anybody got pics of tinted red tails? I was thinking more like just painting the chrome part red. Or tinting the whole thing. I just got a set of these and will go take pics of them installed but I don't like the shape. The dam things stick out like dodge tails or something. But the 18 led's look good.

    tacoma sold 11/13/13 GX470 has 2” Dobinsons IMS w/JBA UCA, Baja Designs S1 ditch lights, more to come!
    on my previous vehicle I tinted the tails red, using translucent hobby paint, i still have the bottle in the garage if anyone is interested in the brand/color, but it will dramatically reduce your tail's reflective capabilities, I wouldn't recomment it. On my previous car I only did a small section to change orange to red and it came out great.. but i don't think it would work very well on the 09 tails to be honest..

    If you want to smoke them or black them out VHT Nightshades is just like spray paint that is made for taillights. Comes with a bottle of that and some clear coat. All the ones i have seen look really good. Im thinking about doing mine soon.

    I went with these because I don't really like the blingy daisy 09 led thing or tinted or the dodge lookin bulge in all other tails. No issues yet with condensation, back up lights are brighter but I would like these even more if the blinker was yellow instead of red. Can't have everything I guess.
