what is the level of tint on a 2011 taco? (rear-doors of a DCLB). did the search thingy, but nothin' concrete. local tint guy says 20% though a google search shows technically 17%. funny thing is, our state only now allows 50% on the front doors :( any and all info appreciated :D

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
rear doors and back should equate to around 27%. nothing will match perfectly though since stock tint is in the glass itself.

When I bought my truck the salesman said it had 20% on the back windows. I had 20% put on the front windows.

Hey guys. I'm new the to the forum. I own a sign shop in nh I do a fair amount of vehicle lettering and window tinting, the rear side windows on my 2008 access cab emits 21.35% light if that helps but that also changes when you have it in direct sunlight compared to shop style artificial lighting. Not sure I helped but there's some info for ya.

thanks all for the input. my local high-end installer offers 4 levels of tint: 50,35,20 & 5 percentages, 5 being limo. though 50 is the only one apparently allowable in my state, for front doors, he stated most go with 35, which supposedly matches " fairly " well with the oem tint level of around 20 without attracting too much attention that 20 would, yet providing a level greater than merely 50%. he was certain to point out that he would not be responsible if one is pulled over  Incidentally, welcome Andrew :D

I prefer 20 but go with the very minimum 35, which is really not that dark and I doubt dark enough to get noticed.I wouldn't even bother with 50.

    Same here.

I think Texas you can put whatever you want on the back and as dark as 20% on the front. My front tint matches the back decent but I want a little darker.

Your almost right. It's 25% for front. Whatever you want for the back. Only thing bad about going limo for the back is it's very hard to see out at night when reversing.
