Ya Doug that old Yaesu is well, old, does it power on? Those GPS should still work with current Sat platforms, pretty easy to figure out over a pepsi and a piece of pizza.

Plaster city and ocotillo have low visibility, 50 mph dust storm

 

Went to Otay truck trail. Figured it would clear up by the antennas but nope.

 

Yeah that happens a lot when there is a storm at the top of the hill...

Well those who are going out to the desert avoid those big puddles because chances are, they're deep water holes that will swallow your truck.

I've seen it more than once!

 

10% chance of rain and it hasn't rained this week. Doubt there are many puddles in the desert.

 

Wind is a good thing after the last few trips of dust just sitting

 

It IS raining in the surrounding mountain areas, which is where moat the water in the desert comes from. Some of those washes could be full blown rivers, and with the dust storm you may not see it til its too late.

 

Zero water in the dez.
