Is the TRD Sport limited slip different than the limited slip that came with my SR5? I went with the SR5 because it had everything I needed. Not necessarily everything I wanted because the atrac and rear locker are pretty cool on the trd offroad but for me I do 99% on pavement driving and wasn't willing to fork out thousands more for stickers and stuff I wont use.

2013 SR5, double cab, extended bed, 4x4, automatic, entune, backup cam with towing package. The thing is an f'n limo but suits my needs just fine. My only 3 requirements were 4 wheel drive, white and navigation. It only sees pavement and an occasional dirt road. I plan on some minor upgrades to make it a little more turd.

Nope, the big thing for me was the fact I can swap out my bilsteins every 50000 for no cost, (bilstein lifetime warranties there shocks, and they will send you new ones, you send them back yours) I plan on keeping the truck and passing it down due to a lifetime warranty through geico, so the extra money will pay for itself, an the hood scoop made me feel cool. Also the back up camera in the mirror is great for hooking up to the boat, not really for backing. I was between the SR5 and the Sport, but I got my sport for the price of an SR5. I liked the TRD, except for the 3 leaf pack, and I dont off road with it, I have a solid axle swap 88 K1500 with a 14 bolt FF with detroit and Dana 60 front with coils and posi, so no need to offroad with the truck. I have been un happy about the whistle noise, all the tsb's done and the weather stripping, finally made some custom weather stripping for the hood/grill area, that finally stopped it, (1/4 tubing only helped for two months before the seal was depressed).

2006 SR5 4x4 Double Cab. Pretty happy with it. TRD is preety much spending money for the sticker if you ask me

when i bought my '12 i test drove a trd OR the same color it was a dc too. felt no different except the ride on the trd OR was stiffer. the interior was the same and i was like i dont see the extra 3 grand. so i settled with the SR5. who the hell needs an outlet in the bed anyways. extenuating curcumstances. few and far between. as far as the suspension goes, prolly going to lift mine in the future so why pay extra for something im going to eventually sell on here. just saying. if you envision the way you want your taco to be, take some things into account first before you pay for things you wont need.

A lot of that comes in the SR5 - Here is what didn't

    TRD Sport
    Sport Suspension
    Bilstein Shocks
17" Alloy Wheels with P265/65R17 Tires
    Hood Scoop
    Smoked Headlamp Trim
    115V/400W Deck Powerpoint
    Fog Lamps
    TRD Sport Graphics

TRD Sport Extra Value Package With JBL Audio:
TRD Sport Package plus JBL 6-disc in-dash CD changer and subwoofer,] and XM (includes 90-day trial subscription)

Still, the suspension, shocks, fog lamps and power jack and some trim is better in the TRD. With the value package you get a better stereo.

Would have loved to have gotten the TRD but didn't want to spend the $$$. What I got is the nicest vehicle I ever had so can't complain!

wouldnt have bought a tacoma with out the trdoff road package. didnt even think twice about that, main reason i got this truck was because of the e locker option.

I bought a 08 Toy Taco 2wd pre runner earlier this year, it was a great deal. i bought it my truck used to pulled my quad and dirt bike. The pre runner package is a bonus for the looks, the Toyota name was the draw for me.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a Tacoma, trying to do some research. How good is the non-TRD in the snow compared to TRD? I'm not looking for heavy off-roading, just some country dirt roads and snow in winter. No heavy towing either. Ideal would be a 4 banger access cab with 4x4. Just wondering if I need TRD off road or not.

I'd say the TRD is worth it if you aren't looking to add the same features later on by yourself. I don't have the experience or access to all the tools I'd need to do the modifications I'd want, so to have pretty decent equipment already on the truck is nice. The suspension is good enough to get me by until one day I want to upgrade.

My only real gripe with it is the 3 leaf pack. I feel like it would have been more reasonable if the 4 leaf pack was on the OR and the 3 leaf was on the Sport. Or both just had a 4 leaf pack.

It's all about trh skewp. However look at the poll, you are definitely in the minority.

My Toyota dealer sells 10x more TRD then any other model, resale is much better. For 7 bucks more a month, not a bad return.
