There's a member here in Austin who has 2 Tacos, both 4 cyl. She averages about 26 mpg per truck.

    reg/access or dc?
because the reg/access I completely believe getting those mpgs.
its the DC model I was referring to

My V8 swapped jeep wrangler got the same gas mileage as it did when it was a stock 4 cylinder so it's not so unreasonable that they would be close. Of course the fact that the TJ has the aerodynamics of a brick, I'm sure that helped too...

moves it around more efficiently ? makes sense.
& Toyota only claims a 3mpg difference on their website
from 4cyl DC PR to 6cyl DC 4x4.

Do NOT get gap insurance from the dealer. Call up your local insurance first. Gas insurance for a Honda from the dealer was like $800. Whereas, it was only $60 for a year with our auto insurance. And after like 2 or 3 years, you'll be in good standing and can cancel it.

Walk away if the interest rate goes above 10%. Ive seen repo cars with 21.9 interest rates and that is fucking ridiculous, no wonder you got your car repoed!!
And BTW my 4x4 AC 4cyl gets 26 on the Idaho highways with dunflops. I get 23-24 in the city.

I didnt wind up paying in full
    I did finance
I also did get a warranty

    Here is why

    we put 26,000 down.
we looked at numbers it was 9%.
    offered us warranty
    said no
he said he will take 1000 off of it to 1500. this is 6 yr 75k warranty
he also said he will change my interest rate from 9 to 3.45%

I also have 0 income and not much of a credit history so we looked at it not just a deal for a car, but for a deal for credit building.
    gonna post pics soon

yea we were probably going to do it for a year at 9% just for history.

when we saw it for 3.45 it was amazing

What you doing in the finance office?

I wouldn't buy any of the extras.

I don't have extended warranty, but some on here have bought one after the initial purchase, before the factory warranty ran out, and got a better price than the dealer offered.

From one pilot to another, you'll get no bullshit here. I get from 19,20 to 21 MPG with my new 6 banger Double Cab.

... It's all in the way you drive it, accelerate it.. etc.

I'm seriously no shitting you about my MPGs.

That's ridiculous!! I just got my first loan about two and a half weeks ago for my 4Runner and my rate is 2.4% and would have been 1.94% if the car was a 2007 or newer. I can't imagine paying that much extra on a vehicle for nothing.

    I hear ya.

The thing is, for the most part, the people with high auto interest rates bring it on themselves... poorer credit scores/history will equal a higher rate.

    360-400 per tank in a v6? WOW!
maybe my "lead" foot is the cause of all my mpg problems...:D

Yup, most I got was 411 miles on one full tank, I will confess though, I probably had one cup of fuel left in the system. ;)

I haven't pushed my luck since then.
