    Got it calibrated seems to be working well. Hopefully it will help me improve my gas mileage by changing my driving habits.

    Sorry for the lame question as I normally love researching new toys. Im strapped for time right now with projects and family flying in to visit then work. Do the UG units need to be calibrated for regular stock suspensions/tires? I took a small road trip yesterday and was getting 17.6 city and 18.6 highway which I was surprised and happy to see. Just want to make sure its accurate.

    Ill double check the numbers with real math once I work through this first tank and get some mileage numbers but in the meantime Id like to fine tune it if need be.

    It's worth it to calibrate it because of the "acceptable" error from the factory...you can get nearly perfect measurement with the UG. Bt the ECU speedo signal is going to read pretty close to correct on the UG with the stock set up.

    Great thanks for the info Mark. I don't mind doing the process just wasn't familiar enough to know if it improves accuracy or not and what the ug error specs were.

    I'll put forth the effort and research into doing a proper calibration knowing that I can make it even more accurate.

    No worries. I regeared my motorcycle, but even before I did that I had a speedo healer on it to make the "stock" error go away. It's not a lot and it may not even change your mpg measurement at all, but it's worth it to have peace of mind that it is "right"

    I used a bracket I had left over from my hid kit, but any strap material will do. Something like plumbers strap material. It's easily formed to whatever shape you need. Anyway, I ran the strap through the bracket that comes with the UG and used a small screw/nut combo to secure it. I used the small "slit" area on the UG bracket. I had to drill a little opening in the slit just big enough to fit the screw. I then used tin snips to cut it to the length I wanted. Then I just unscrewed the screw from the visor mount, put the other end of the strap underneath and screwed it back together. Easy peasy! I can take some pics if you need it.

    From what I found yesterday, my truck was Very close to being 100% accurate already. I did the mile marker distance calibration over 9 miles. When I lined up with the final marker, the UG was showing 8.976 miles. I went ahead and changed it to an even 9, which gave a correction factor of 1.003 I believe.
