    Back in the early 80's when I joined, I wanted to be a Crew Chief. My recruiter told me that at that moment all crew chief schools were full.
    He said go "Open Mechanical", and that if he was a betting man that I would get a crew chief slot.:rolleyes: Well, that's what I did. And think Gawd for that. I'd hate to be a crew chief now.

    The air force has three pretty goof special MOS, Combat Controller being the gnarliest followed by Para Rescue but ur more of a combat medic jumping out of helos there, and then TAC-P. TAC-P by far the easiest to get into cause there indoc is weaker but still doing some heavy shit man. Just if you join the AirForce get the job u want in your contract 100% or u will prolly end up security forces in which ur only chance to do something cool out of that is to go to the 820th SFG where we deploy a good amount and normally pretty good mission. We did area security ops my last two deployments so its outside the wire stuff.

    cool. i do a little C-5 but i mostly try and stay on the C-17... they break less often.

    I was at Moody with the 347 TFW back in 85-91. I had some goods times there but alot of bad ones too!

    C-5s break all the time. I was stuck at a tdy a few days longer cause of that POS of an aircraft.
