Rear sliding window...do you use it?

I have yet to use the rear sliding window in my 2009 Double cab. I always used it in my 2004 Access because I could reach back while driving and slide it open. Because I can't reach it, I never use it.

I'm curious if anyone else uses their's and the body style you have (and I don't mean fat, thin or hourglass).



FOR DOUBLE CAB OWNERS WHO USE IT...when do you open it? Before getting in or do you have go-go-gadget arms that can reach it?

 

i open it for my dog. If hes in the bed, he pokes his head inside. If hes inside, he pokes his head outside.

 

I use it when I take naps during lunch. It lets the cool breeze in.

 

no, I can't reach it from the drivers seat...and yes, beer tastes good.

I also use it for when i back up at night since i have dark tint.

 

Its useless to me cause i cant reach it . I wish it was power like the tundras(the whole window rolls down)

 

I would have been fine with a solid rear window.

 

I'm a DC who uses it...

If I think to open it before I drive I prefer to do it then. Otherwise I can put the truck in park at a stop light/sign and lean the seat way back and reach it. (I've even done that while driving once, but wouldn't recommend it.)

 

cant reach it! like others I would like it to be electric or just not there at all. since brand new in march 05 I can count on one hand the times it has been open

 

I've had my DC for 2 yrs. & have never opened my slider.Hell;I couldn't tell you if it will open,never even tried it!Maybe I'll do that today;nah.

Only 1500 miles on my double cab but the thought hasn't even crossed my mind to use it yet. Doubt I ever will. I had an electric in my F150 that I used all the time.

 

I open mine up almost every time I get in. Regular cab though...super easy and accessable.

 

I would trade mine for a solid back window with rear defrost.

 

I've got the access cab so I can reach back and open it while driving or at a light, etc. I like it on warm days when I have my drivers window down 1/2 way- a breeze comes through the slider and out the side plus it reduces the wind noise from having the drivers window down.

 

I haven't had my DC very long but I've never used the sliding window, and I can't think of a situation where it would come in handy. I guess somebody in the back seat could reach through it to grab a beer out of a cooler in the bed as you go down the road. Wait, that would be illegal - nevermind...

 

Any time I open the side windows in my AC I'll usually open that too- Cuts the noise down a bit and keeps the ventilation moving even when I'm stopped or whatever.

I WOULD dig a power rear full window tho...
and beer does not just taste GOOD....it tastes AMAZING!!

 

Had one in my Ranger and used it all the time, I think cause I could reach it. I wish I didn't have it but the TW sticker looks so good on the slider!

 

I can reach mine. I open it when I roll my windows down.
