Agreed - I just rebuilt my Del-ton upper by shaving the FSB and putting on a Troy VTAC Alpha. I dig it so far. Shot it today and it works well and looks good with the suppressor. :D

True, but Feinstein has been very vocal about her new ban bill (which she promised should he get reelected). And this time, if it goes as she wants it, no grandfathering....

Have you tried looking at the Armory on Indian River road in Virginia Beach? They almost always have what I'm looking for, and they have pretty good prices. The only thing they don't carry a lot of is revolvers. Military surplus ammo by the caseload, excellent selection, great prices, friendly and knowledgeable associates- I don't really go anywhere else.
Where are they holding the gun show this time? I haven't gotten to one yet, but me and my boss plan on taking off to go to the next one.

No I will check them out though. I am going to order a basic PSA from classicfirearms. I am just waiting to speak to Battlefield guns to make sure they are ok with being the FFL. It was either that or the DelTon. Several people on here have recommend the PSA and nobody has really mentioned the DelTon, kind of made my choice for me.

I like Troy alot, very weight friendly and came with good instructions with their freefloat. They make drop ins also.

I like the idea behind a free float.. just don't have the tools or experience to install a set. I've been looking at the daniel defense omega 7 (free float) versus the EZ CAR rail they offer but one site said the EZ was free float and another site said it wasn't so now i'm back to square one.

What's the purpose of your build? Are you adding a scope and looking for accuracy? If so, you want a free-float tube. If you're looking for an easy way to add accessories to your gun and don't care about getting more accuracy than you're already getting, then you want a drop-in quad rail or a handguard that allows you to add rails like the Magpul MOE.

There may or may not be a Magpul MOE handguard set in the classified section - just sayin'...

Look at the Troy Alpha or Bravo if you want an easy-install handguard that also free-floats the barrel.

Would probably be cheaper than the DD rails you're looking at. All they require is that you take a dremel cutoff wheel to your delta pack, and either shave the front sight base or knock out the pins and install a low-profile gas block. If you have a dremel, some punches and a vise to remove the flash hider, you're in business.

Holy shit that DD rail is Expensive!!! It is a drop in rail, not sure why they call it a free float but it should work for your needs. Troy drop in rails are 100 bucks cheaper and not b/c they dont make top notch parts.

For the price of the DD rail u could a free float troy and get it installed by a gunsmith

Give us a pic/link of your rifle so we can help you more

If you want to keep the front iron sight, then a drop-in is definitely the way to go.

I'd like to ditch the iron sight but then again i'd need a gas block and all that.
