So theres this E-5 that wears the 1st cav on his right shoulder that insists on wearing parts of his ACU EVERYWHERE on campus.

he likes to wear his ACU coat randomly, with no other part of the uniform excluding his PC, anywhere and everywhere on campus. Even when it's 80 degrees out he wears it with shorts or jeans and slippers..
He never takes his PC off, including in the cafe and I've seen him walking around our computer labs with his PC on, nametape and e-5 pin included.

When a former-enlisted cadet friend of mine asked him why the hell he does so, he said he earned the right to wear any part of the uniform whenever he wanted because he deployed with the Cav (Can't remember his HQ unit, didnt recognize the patch)

    thoughts?

If he is still in duty status, He is breaking AR 670-1. If he is a civilian, then he can do whatever he wants unless it impersonation. I personaly would tell him it is a pretty douchebag move to wear parts of a uniform, and not the whole thing. If he says he got out, thats when you ask him, If you loved the army so much shitbird, why did you get out? Why dont you wear normal clothes, now that you are a civilian? The picture you im getting in my head is of a homeless guy who trys and use the uniform for "perks". Fucking DB

OH, and serving with a particular unit doesnt make him entiteled to anything. How many special forces guys wear their ACUS outside of service? NONE. they may have the unit patch or something on a bag, but only something small, a prior service member would recognize.

I personaly have a hat with my IR FLAG on it. But I dont even wear that anymore, it sits on my dashboard of the taco

Just because of a deployment with a unit doesn't give you the right to wear a half uniform like sight pic said.

But really, if he is active duty, he is violating uniform regs, regardless of what shit he talks. If he's not active, again sight pic nailed it, he's a DB and wants to show off.

He needs to have someone inspect his reserve ID card or some shit, just to make sure he's not impersonating and trying to get perks. Stolen Valor Act guys should investigate this homo.

I wear my coastie ball cap, but all it says is USCG with no name or rank insignia. I wear a tee shirt I got as a reward for fitness but that's not a standard issue uniform shirt so WTFC.

I mean, I like wearing the uniform as much, probably a little more than the next guy but this guy takes the cake... and he's supposedly a SGT too

call me a hooah nerd but I find a guy wearing an ACU coat w/ full tapes/unit patches with board shorts and slippers to be a major cuntbag

shitting on the uniform I'm working my butthole raw to get to wear

You could kindly ask one of your ROTC instructers to ask him about his current and former status. Or any active duty guys you meet will gladly call him out on it

    Agreed.

I'm retiring soon, and the only part of the uniform that I plan to wear once I'm out is the multicam pants...turning those into cargo shorts. Other than that, you won't catch me in any sort of uniform item once I'm out. A hat or two on a shelf, and anything left after CIF turn-in is going into a closet.
