I don't care whether his titles are taken away or not. That is only a symbolic move. What matters is that he/they were caught. It's step in the right direction.

I don't necessarly agree with it, but at that point and at that level it almost becomes a necessity for survival.

Besided the US wasn't built by being fair.

Lance was tired of fighting this?? He doesn't get tired. He probably doped like the rest of them.

The reason people should be pissed isn't because it's Lance Armstrong, but it isn't dozens of others. Why Armstrong? Karl Lewis is an arrogant prick who has admitted doping, yet still slags Johnson. Florence Griffith-Joyner dead at 32 of "natural causes"...bullshit. The US has had the best doping program since the Eastern Bloc, yet only a few athletes get crucified, while others get a pass, even cannonized. LA, love him or hate him, has arguably done more for society than any other athlete, yet they were relentless in pursuing him. And I say this as a former fan. He achieved former hero status for me after his behaviour during his seventh win. I'm not defending him, I'm questioning all the others.

Anyone watch south park last night? They said Jesus performed all his miracles on HGH and removed him from history. It was funny.

But yeah, I think its hard to believe he didnt do anything, but so did everyone else. Its still pretty freakin tough to ride a bike at that pace for 3 weeks and come out on top. Mentally, thats pretty insane. Sports for the most part are entertainment and if not for Lance I probaly never would have got into cycling, neither a ton of other people. So he used his status to promote exercise and health. Not to mention everything Livestrong does. SO yeah if he needed to cheat a bit to do that fine. I also think a lot of jealously is out there. A cycling team is what 8 riders? It is a team sport and the other guys are nobodies now, while LA gets all the credit, fame and money they remain relatively unknown. Im sure that drove a lot of them to turn on Lance. But if not for Lance, they never would have won anything either.

I do think the govt has 0 busniess in policing sports. It is hard not to admit what you saw or heard when the govt makes you give a statement under oath. Thats what happened in baseball and it sucks. Baseball was so much better when dudes were jacked smashing it out of the park into the bay or rivers.

Not much else to say about this whole clusterf**k. Cycling had its "doping era" just like baseball and every other sport for several years/decades. Put an asterick beside all documented records and results and lets just focus on keeping it clean in the future.

    What pisses me off most

I have a 25 year history racing road bikes and mountain bikes. I don't race
much except cyclocross nowadays...but I ride a ton and kick ass in my own right....

But, there is a famous non-professional and non-sanctioned road bike time trial here
every week, and there is a collection of asshats who take steroids and testosterone just to be able to
rip this TT for bragging rights.

it isn't really talked about but enough people know about it...it is usually doctors and lawyers
    doing it too....

    CHUMPS

no I am not jelly I just wish the playing field was non-doping

I've believed and said it for years. But there's no reason to gloat now that Lance has finally said it himself. His words will (hopefully) speak for themselves.

Different folks will have different angles they'll be curious about, but I'm most interested in what he says about, and possibly to, that long, long list of folks that he, and his legal team, threatened in the best cases, and tore to pieces in the worst: The Andreus, the Leipheimers, the Lemonds, Emma, Tyler, Floyd, Filippo Simeoni, Christophe Bassons, David Walsh, Paul Kimmage. The list goes on and on...

I'm also curious if he rolled over on Johan at all, given that he (Johan) is standing his ground through appeal.

I never thought I'd be blocking two nights of my life out to watch Oprah...

I am a long time mountain bike racer and have dabbled in road races.

Drugs are now prevelant in the amatuer ranks and its pretty pathetic if you ask me.

I really wish I knew for sure who was doing it because I would out them.

Being a pro and doping is one thing but the amatuers doing it is another.

Nothing new, he still beat the field that was doping, still did a lot for cancer awareness. He does more away from his sport than most athletes.

Of all of his victories including stage wins, he only shared the podium with something like 6 ppl that we're never linked to ped's in his entire career. He still is a great athlete.

unbe-fucking-lievable...why now? So he can compete in sanctioned tris? He'll be 50 before he's eligible again. It troubles me more that he involved oprah in it, fat yenta
