    Empty the tank put in a few gallons of gas by pass the fuel pump relay turn on the key let it run for a few minutes (no it will not hurt the pump the thing is running as long as the engine is) the pumps flow far more fuel then they use the diesel will be returned to the tank along with the gasoline. Drain the fuel full it with gas and be on your way what is left in the injectors will not hurt a thing it will be gone in a few seconds. I worked for Mercedes quite awhile people put gas in their diesels every day and vice versa. Some one posted some thing about PD diesel engines and gasoline that you never ever want to do our you'll have to take out a loan to get it fixed. The only diesel hoses that won't fit in a car/small truck are the ones for big trucks all the others will and you can't go by the color.

    Under the right circumstances anybody could have done this. No reason for anyone to pour salt on the wound. Speaking of salt, a couple of weeks ago I was cooking some eggs and picked up the salt shaker. Instead of shaking out some salt, I took off the lid and poured the whole damn bottle on my eggs.:confused: My mind was on more pressing problems I guess. We ALL do stupid things now and then.

    There are plenty of stations in small towns and back waters that do not have the larger nozzles. Some are not color coded either.

    If its not different or color coded I can defiantly see someone and myself making this mistake. I feel like the gas station would be at fault for that happening.

    No, we as a society need to take responsibility of our actions, as painful and uncomfortable as that may be.

    Getting it taken care of by a reputable shop would be my course of action.

    Yea, I agree. Mostly we have forgotten that personal responsibility is a cornerstone of freedom. Unless it's a case of fraud or deceit we need to own our mistakes and quit looking for others to blame. Not that the OP is doing any of that.

    Back in my stupid days aka " drinking days", I did the same thing to a 64 binder only then had the idea to top it off with premium fuel before starting it. It never hiccuped once. It probably enjoyed the extra lube that the diesel oil provided. Tacomas are way more high strung.

    Thank you for sharing that.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    So I'm wondering how this all turned out, if there was any real damage and what was done to cleanse the truck?
