Wow... a $42k prerunner, that ought to sell quickly

I think they are way overpriced. Diesel Toyz will do the conversion for about $25k on a 4wd. Neat and everything, but I think they're a little too ambitious with the pricing.

A little to rich for me. I get 21mph as is why spend 25K for an upgrade that is just for bragging rights.

eek! that's really cool and all... but i get 21 mpg out of my v6 and have more HP and TQ... plus mine is 4x4, double cab, had 4 miles on it, and was 13k cheaper.

you can buy a LOT of fuel for 13K

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I will stick with gasoline, I can't imagine the payload and tow ratings being much different on a diesel Taco then they are now. Full size is where its at if you want a diesel that can haul and tow stuff, for good mileage, Jetta TDI.

Ummmm, pass! Great idea in all, but the hp needs to be a lot more. You might as well by a stock Tacoma 4 cylinder that get's that much mpg and you will save at least $20k. A stock 4 cylinder will also put about that much hp at much less price.

A diesel Tacoma would be bad ass but for $42K.......... As mentioned before, you could buy a new full size deisel in that price range. Hell, you could buy a used diesel with 1/4 of those miles for cheaper. It will also be better equipped, more power and easier for someone to service.
It would be a good idea for Toyota to bring a diesel Tacoma but keeping the cost down would be the challenge which is probably why they haven't brought one over.

Keep in mind that dieseltoys charges 20K for the diesel conversion. Not saying they will get the asking price...

You could most likely pick up a comparable unconverted truck for below $10k and add the $20k Dieseltoys charges and your doing a lot better than what this guy wants for his.
