Why are you going to buy a winch your 2wd ? I would think any situiation that a winch would be needed you should be 4x4 to get there, i would save to do a 4x4 conversion

LOL I have chilled with a few of them. let me quote a few replies to sum up SCFJ, well 80% of them. There WERE a FEW cool guys on there.
you know nothing about SCFJ, shut up knewb :p jk
    this
    this
    and this
Mine is still up and running. Only has about 10 pulls on it though.
eh, gonna have to disagree with you here. Hiatt has been looking for a plate bumper for quite some time now as you may know. Some people, believe it or not, don't have the $$ and downtime to do a 4wd swap on a second gen tacoma. IF I were in Hiatt's situation...I would rather have it for extra assurance, rather than think...Winch on my 2wd...pfft.
$300 winch & a tree saver and even a snatch block is probably a lot more realistic than a $3k? 4wd swap. Just my opinion though, nothin personal.

I believe Hiatts current bumper can accept a winch with minimal modification as well.

so i assume by this comment that you think im just some rich kid that got handed my truck like some people on this forum. If you have ever met me you would know this was far from the truth, i wasent trying to put hiatt down in anyway i would just think having a winch could inspire false confiedence, causing him to get into a situation that 4x4 would be needed. Sence i have already gotten one midnight phone call from hiatt to come get him unstuck, it was just a opinion :D

4x4 conversion is just a bit too much. Id just like to have the option of having a winch if im out and nobody can help. I do appreciate your help when i was stuck. I think thats kinda what inspired me to get one. Lol

Ya monkeyproof was telling me about that. I found a used one for $250 but i also found a warn for 300. Not too sure what model the warn is but i think its just the winch. Both are rated for 8,000 lbs.

Used 250? They are 275-300 brand new. Id snag a new one uf you have 300 bucks handy. Got mine at 4wp for 289 a couple years back. +tax .
Winch is a great thing to have. Even with 4wd, locker an atrac, got stuck in snow in the fj. Was too soft for Jack to get up front and tug me out, tree saver and winched myself out. Have fun with it
