try the rest of the internet, i'm pretty sure politics are mentioned once or twice:)

in my opinion this whole thread would have made a nice PM. but you made it public and bob responded publicly. so whats the big deal

Edit: the following is not intended specifically for any member, it just happened to follow a quote by packerfan but is not necessarily directed at him

Personally i like the "no politics" policy for many reasons.

    1) nobody on this forum has ever changed another readers mind by ranting intelligently or unintelligently about politics. so whats teh point if all your doing is pissing people off but not changing minds?

    2) it causes rifts between members. i can name multiple members that i liked but at one point they opened their mouths about politics, religion etc... and i suddenly lost respect for them and quit liking them. which is fine if i'm on a political forum, but i'm on a truck forum. i'd rather see the site divided between TRD offroad and Sport owners or Texans and Carolinians than republicans and democrats

    3) someone always takes it too far. either an old member who steps over the line, or a new member that thinks its ok to flame and call names.

my point is, i cannot think of one single GOOD reason to talk politics on this site. and if you want to rant or talk politics, you can easily find another place to do it

Bob and the rest of the mods (except lsocoee and themaster) keep up the good work

and I think that you have missed something rather important. We are all here as volunteers. It would take me twice as long to notify everyone every time I do something. People send me PMs all the time asking me to fix something-I do all of them, but I rarely respond to them. I don't see that my notification is really that important.

    x2

i don't mind the bickering in the political threads as long as it doesn't get personal and insulting (even though no one ever really "wins" and everyone thinks they are right and no one gets proven wrong... some people like to argue i guess) but this drama shit reminds me of high school

a lot of drama queens up in this bitch...

considering why we're all here... i wouldn't miss the political threads for a second if they went away

but a mod deleting a thread, and not letting the OP know why, AND leaving negative rep also... time to de-mod that mod.

well the site owner is the one that deleted the threads...but not one that neg repped...so read and get the story correct. thats kind of what got this started. if a post of mine got deleted, i wouldnt make an "EFF TW and EVERYONE" post, i'd PM A mod and see whats up

i don't think thread deletion needs an explanation from a mod... if the OP needs a reason they can PM a mod and ask... but i'm not a mod so it doesn't matter what i think...

not sure if it was or not but anonymous neg rep from anyone is uber lame
