U.S. drilling.

What are your thoughts on offshore drilling in the US? Why?

well definitely yesss at longest drilling also continues on land as well coming from west texas were we are drilling 24/7

 

And as a heads up-This thread may or may not stay open. If the facts and issues that are involved with offshore drilling can remain independent of partisan finger pointing-we can play this game.
Anyone chimes in with an overt or sly attempt at political commentary and they are gunna have a bad time.

 

I support it. both lowers our dependance on foreign resources and gives us time to work on "Green" energy

 

^^ saw that report that we will be producing the most oil in 5 years. and i part of this and believe mee i wouldnt doubt it. with fracking technology we theirs a huge going on.

 

You should buy more oil from Canada

 

We've got it, lets use it.

 

If a private company were to build the pipeline from Canada as well, we would be completely independent from overseas oil. Or even if someone built a pipeline from ND down, it would help a ton. I am all for drilling around the US so we don't have to pay the Saudi's anymore.

I agree.

We need 2 or 3 "superhighway" pipelines running from Canada to the Texas refineries with tributary infrastructure from our own fields into them.

Between the US and Canada, we could tell the rest of the world to kiss our collective asses.

 

Does that money cheaper gas prices?

And then sell to England for even more cash . Gas prices there are horrible.

You better get on it before the pipeline headed to BC and from there to China by super tanker gets built

PS : Chinese companies now own about 20% of the oilsands just in case you figured the Alberta to Bc to China thing wasn't going to actually happen

Add to that they seem willing to pay more , our Federal government is wanting to diversify our trading partners away from just one

 

Drilling for more oil is not necessarily going to solve the problem. With increasing worldwide demand, prices will continue to rise. If the domestic market is not willing to pay market value, the oil will be shipped to the highest bidder elsewhere, be it China, India etc.

What we need to do is reduce our reliance on oil. Opt away for huge engines to transport one person etc. There needs to be a collective change to the North American mindset to how we use energy and seek alternates to gas engines.

Continuing to drill will only prolong the misery.

 

They'd still be getting taxed out the ass at the pump. They're paying high prices in taxes not the actual price of the oil.

And I'm all for it. Anything to get us less dependent on foreign fuel sources. But we obviously still need to look at alternative energy sources as well. I work in the natural gas industry so I'm all for increased drilling there as well. We're starting to get Marcellus shale gas direct to customers now which should keep prices down for a long time. I'd like to see CNG vehicles start to become more prevalent.
