6 or seven, I've only read 4 of them

FOR gives the backstory to everything, it's the prequel to the entire trilogy

Big Halo fan since day one. I have a love-hate with Halo 4. Some things like the story, Forward Unto Dawn, cinematics, and multiplayer maps (one or two) are great, while other things like the load-out feature, lack of new weapons, and uninspiring spartan ops missions are dull.

I'm very pleased that 343 brought back skill (rank) based multiplayer (and it uses your skill to match against others of similar skill), but you can't see what rank you are unless you go into Halo Waypoint. Totally retarded. I liked Halo for the way they did their multiplayer, not the COD style leveling up and load-out system. If I wanted that I'd play COD, which I still do from time-to-time.

About the books, most are good.

Fall of Reach and First Strike were easily my favorites. Great reads.
The Flood would have been better had I not played the video game version of that book 1000 times :p
Contact: Harvest was ok, very slow in the first half of the book, but it's worth the read to know how the first contact with the Covenant went down.
Cryptum was a mostly boring, but it led to a lot of insight and background on the forerunners, the forerunner-Human war, and the Precursors. This is helpful knowledge going into Halo 4.
The Cole Protocol was much better than the average review, IMO.
Ghost of Onyx was very good.

    I haven't read any others.

Haven't enjoyed Halo since Halo 2. This one is pretty good though. Hate how they made everything similar to cod with the ordinance packages, power ups, etc. Also hate how the DMR overpowers the BR. Kinda liked the Halo 2 style of game play where you had to fight for the power weapons on the map, and everyone starts with the same weapons.
