    That's a good deal,when i had my bumpers shipped ,it was $150.

If he's using a freight co. you can pick it up at thier closest facility and that might save a few bucks too.

If that's the case and we can save a little more, I'd be willing to get the trailer hooked up and pick up the lot of them. If people are close, we can meet at the facility and break the pallet down then and there and someone can hold the sliders for the people that live a little futher out or that can't make it.

I would be ok with either being the storage spot or the delivery spot

Jerry had already told me a business address will be even cheaper. If you guys need a hand getting a business address I should be able to help. What Denis said is also a good idea.

Rob, I'll be getting bolt ons and it'll likely be the dead of winter by the time they come. Didn't you run yours for a while without the bottom bolts? I'm thinking I can put the 7 side bolts in and wait til spring to drill the frame for the bottom bolts (I obviously won't be setting the weight of the truck on them in the mean time).

    Mike,
I had all mine drilled right away because we were going to Rausch Creek. Im sure you will be totaly fine with the bolts only in the side if your not wheeling it. Jerry uses as many factory holes as possible (although we had to open some up because he was so new at the bolt on's at the time but he has since fixed that). I have six 1/2" dia grade 8 bolts in each side of the frame. Plenty strong enough.

Hey guys. I think I'm gonna put my name on the list. I really want the sliders. I know we don't have a firm price on what these are gonna be but before I say 100 percent, I would like to find out the price. Just to get a rough idea you know. But yeah I'm probably like 80 percent in to doing the deal anyway. I think we should have it shipped to one persons house, and then have a mod day. Paint them up all together and help each other install them. I think that's better then lugging them home and doing it ourselves you know? Just a thought

Does he use backer plates? The ones on his thread just show the bolt head so I think I'd want to use at least a hardened washer.

Maybe a mod day for the install would be an idea but getting a group of people trying to sand, paint and install sliders wouldn't really work. They wouldn't dry quick enough for install that same day and people might want to apply different paints/finishes, hell some might even have them Line-X'd. Personally, I plan on taking a good 3 or 4 days to finish mine by the time I get them prepped, primed, painted (several coats) and bed linered (again, several coats). I don't plan on touching them up for a long time :D

You're going to sand and prime them? You know they are made to slide on rocks right? I'm not sure how you would sand them, as they are raw steel, and 3-4 coats of bedliner would be more than enough, without primer. All together, you're looking at like 30 mins per side to paint them... You'll barely see them on the truck anyways... If they were steps and for looks then I'd agree with you but all that work is a waste of time.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Just getting 4 cans of bed liner and just clean them and then spray them. The bed liner spray should be enough to stick to it and then if you scrap them just touch them up. I wouldn't bother peeping them for days. I would think Bed Liner would be fine

When they do bedliners they have to scuff the bed to make it rough for the liner to have something to grab on so I would think a rough sanding is a good idea. I am thinking I have some POR15 left over that I will prob use

True. Maybe a rough 30 mins each side of sanding with 300 gritt and then just bed line them. I wouldn't use primer endless your using regular paint.

Again, who cares? Just spray them until it sticks and are fully covered, then do it two more times for 3 coats... You know how much of a pain in the ass it would be to even rough sand them? You'd be there for days... :notsure:

I'm going to do a rough sand to knock off any surface rust that they accumulate during shipping. The primer sticks to bare metel very well so if any of the subsequent layers get chipped, the primer should keep them protected from rusting. The BAMF sliders don't tuck up tight to the cab, so they will stick out and double as steps. My main reason for spending that much time on the prep is so they don't start to rust in a year. You know how much salt they use on the roads and these will be in a direct salt spray for 5 months out of the year.

For my use, these are more for piece of mind. They likely will see more car doors than rocks

I hope mine have some light surface rust, POR works better when it has some rust to bond to

I also tend to over do things...

Hell, I got a brand new Nfab light bar, factory powder coated and I sanded it down and put 3 coats of bed liner on before it went on the truck. I HATE seeing rust
