I tried to start this am, no response from engine yet exterior lights as well as interior lights started flashing, along with a beeping sound as if this was an alarm. had truck four years never heard this before. I went to costco baught new battery, installed, no change in response, as if no power to starter, yet all light work very well, and still lights flashing as soon as I open the door. What can I do to correct this and get back to normal, so that I do not lose JOB. Thanks for any help.

is the starter clicking or trying to turn over? if not, try to get your hands on a multimeter and check voltage at the starter and after the starter. if you have voltage going in, but not out, your starter is bad

There is no response from starter at all, turn key and nothing, not even a click, just dead, yet as soon as I just open the door door lights, dome lights, tail lights, and front parking lights start flashing along with this beep, beep. Yes it did have an after market alarm system, yet when I purchased truck from used car lot they told me that they had bypassed the system, and it was no longer working, and it hasnt been an issue for 4 years of ownership, until battery went dead, this alarm sound, and the lights flashing happened before I removed old dead battery. When I installed new battery same situation no change.

    Too few to list.
If the alarm was bypassed it shouldn't be flashing or sounding. Look under the dash and try to locate the alarm wiring. I bet it's still there. The factory wires are usually tapped and a few are cut. Just remove and re-connect.

sounds like after your battery took a shit the alarm that they bypassed reset its self and is not allowing the starter to crank. look under the dash sometimes there is a small button you can hit reset the alarm. then id bring the truck to a car audio place and have the alarm completely removed or replaced with a new one.

Sounds like your floor mat is jammed under your clutch, preventing the clutch start switch from opening..Sounds crazy, but it happened to me, the mat came loose from the clips and slid forward and doubled over, and the truck would not start. nothing, but all electrical worked.

Thanks to everyone for your help, as it was very helpful. I found the problem and corrected it, and I must say that I feel more than a little stupid. I got under the dash on driver side, found old switch from after market alarm, just a simple toggle switch, clicked it to the right.......BINGO!! everything works well. You were right, the battery took a crap, and as it did it engaged what I thought was no longer working....shut everything down....security system,....DUH! I lost a days work, but learned something thanks to you folks. Thank you, thank you.

Glad you figured it out . I'd just remove it completely . Then you don't have to worry about anything weird happening again .
