Mike you will be fine . I don't have all my bolts in and they have been bouncing off rocks all year. No issues .

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma

They come with a bunch of 1" square 3/16" thick plates to use as washers. I only used hardened washers on the bottom bolts because it's too tight to get the plates in there.
Mike your right on about the prep but sanding them might be over kill. I used mineral spirits to clean them up (a must to get rid of all the oils). A coat of self etching primer. A coat of regular primer then two coats of duplicolor bed liner (blue can). The reason for only one coat of self etching primer was that was all the store had and I thought I had more at home. I ended up going to Walmart and they had rustoleum automotive primer in the "regular" spray paint section. My god that stuff sticks, DON'T get it on your hands it was on mine for a week. I will definitely be using that stuff again.

I figured they would be, and once Rob said grade 8 hardware, I know I'm not going to break them unless I do something really really stupid.

Yea, I guess. If you have that much time and can wait to put them on. They won't rust through the bedliner or line x for at least the life of your truck. Maybe in 20 years you'll start to see it... I also think you'd have to hit a rock pretty fucking hard to scrape the bedliner or line x off, since that shit is made specifically not to scratch, and if you hit it that hard your truck would be fucked anyways... :notsure: I am just going to paint mine because I want them to match my wheels, if the paint scratches off I will unbolt them and spray again..

Bed liner comes off pretty easy on rocks . My skid is bed liner . Or I should say was. I need to repaint it . Rattle can is the way to go if you wheel your truck.

The Rustoleum Bedliner I'm using has a tendency to chip, that's the only reason I'm layering it up. I think Line-X will be way out of my league price-wise and you can't touch it up if it ever does gouge.

Anyways, you get the idea, I want these things to hold up for a long, long time! I want this thing to be in a junk yard in 30 years with the frame rotted out, engine gone, body gone and a perfect set of sliders, all bedlinered and ready to go just sitting in a pile of rust :D

I might have a problem... :anonymous:

Yup you might. I found a thread that was all about what to paint them and John is right everyone said if you wheel spray paint was the way to go due to touch ups. LineX was very expensive and peeled. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/97960-sliders-what-should-i-paint-line-them.html

I checked Bamf looks like 425.00 bolt ons no kick and Demello rock crushers were 480.00 bolt ons no kick these are both before shipping. The Bamf are a pretty good deal with the shipping deal

I wonder if they'll line up with the factory holes in the frame for the sides? Not a bad deal on sliders though.

According to instructions on the site they do line up to factory holes...

They are not as fancy as the bamf or Demello sliders.. But will work just as well.

Will do! Do you think you guys would get bamf's cheaper than that in the group buy?
