and now i find out it has no drain plug what can i do i left the gas station and 1/4 down the road it stalled and shut off on me i cranked it twice maybe three times then i realized my mistake but since i tried cranking it it probably means theres now diesel in the combustion chamber i had it towed to my home and now i go to drain the gas tank and im not finding any drain plug please help?!?!

UPDATE: ok first and foremost FUCK ALL OF YOU WHO JUST CAME IN TO FLAME YET HAD NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO SAY...on that note yes it was 3 in the morning and I was high as a kite but it was a BP gas station where all the pumps are next to each other and are the same color that being said my truck is completely ok and yes I did all the work myself I removed the bed which was pretty damn easy and was able to reach the entrance of the gas tank at which point I syphoned all the diesel out I purchased a can of seafoam and put it in the fuel tank with 5 gallons of UNLEADED PLUS after 5 or 6 cranking attempts i got it to start it was stalling so I held it at 4000 rpms for a couple of minutes then left it idle for about half an hour after all is said and done all it cost me was $162 for towing and my Sunday afternoon it is now Tuesday nd is running perfect no smoking so take note if this ever happens to you removing the bed is your best bet don't fuck with the fuel lines or the fuel pump just remove the bed thank you all who left some constructive criticism truth be told this is how I best learn about the technical aspect of every vehicle I've ever owned having a major fuck up then fixing it myself with the help of the interwebs ofcourse

you lost my pity at the red part....perhaps you shouldn't be operating a motor vehicle in this frame of mind. you obviously couldn't tell the difference between gas and diesel...what makes you think you could tell the difference between a green and red light.

and for the record, i have no issues with toking, just do it at home and stay there

At least it was diesel in a gas engine. Can't really cause any harm, just might not run. Ever seen someone accidentally put gas in a Diesel? Catastrophic Fail!

I just found out about this post. In the years that I have worked with GM, we have seen this condition hundreds of times (yeah, it is more common than you might think)
and while the repair costs can get a bit expensive, you want to do it right.
This can be done by yourself, but you have to do EVERYTHING, and not try to take shortcuts. This procedure is approved by GM, and I would be inclined to believe that Toyota would approve the same procedure. Do the steps in order, without changing them. To complete this you will need the following on hand before starting this process.

10 gallons of 87 octane fuel (for flushing)

20 gallons of your choice of fuel that you normally run

1 bottle of fuel injector cleaner (to be dumped into tank when time to do so)

1 can of spray throttle body cleaner

1 fuel filter

1 fused jumper wire (20 amp)

compressed air source regulated down to 45 PSI.

This is for most generic fuel systems, some fuel systems may vary. I am not responsible for anything that occurs when others use this procedure. Always use proper safety and environmental procedures when handling and disposing of fuel.

Disconnect fuel lines at fuel rail and connect an approved fuel line to the fuel supply line that is long enough to place into an approved disposal container. Place this hose discharge end into said container.

Using a maximum regulated pressure of 45 psi, blow out the fuel return line to the tank from the fuel rail.

Remove fuel pump relay.

Connect a fused jumper wire across fuel pump relay connector (You will need to check the wiring for your specific vehicle to find the correct 2 terminals)

Turn on ignition switch and allow fuel pump to run until all available fuel has been discharged. Turn off ignition switch.

Add 5 gallons of unleaded gasoline.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 one more time for a total of 10 gallons of unleaded gasoline.

Replace fuel filter.

Remove fuel rail/injectors and drain fuel rail.

Using a can of throttle body cleaner, clean out fuel rail and clean injector inlets.

Reinstall fuel rail and injectors.

Add fuel injector cleaner to empty fuel tank.

Add 20 gallons of recommended fuel to fuel tank. (this helps mix cleaner with fuel properly)

Turn on ignition and allow fuel pump to run for 5 minutes. (this runs fuel through system and helps remove air)

Turn off ignition.

Remove fused jumper wire and reinstall fuel pump relay.

Start engine. (It may take a few revolutions for vehicle to start, but it should start reasonably quickly)

Once you have done this I always recommend that the owner add fuel injector cleaner to the next 2 tanks of fuel. This procedure has been used successfully for years, and has been approved by GM for fuel contamination by diesel. It will NOT work for all types of contamination. (I had one customer who had a pissed off girlfriend add a gallon of bleach to his tank. The entire fuel system had to be replaced)

This right here is a step by step service method that the common joe could do on the side of the road, my first thought actually was, why not just pump it all out through a fuel line while manually activating the fuel pump to pump all of it out?
