Is this you? Seems pretty easy with a grinder. I shaved a FSB last week with a dremel and a couple hand files. Took a good 3 hours. I should have just went and bought an angle grinder...

Nope. I use Daniel Defense mini gas blocks when I swap over FSBs.

But it looked like a promising video.

Anybody interested in a Daniel Defence complete upper? 16" heavy profile with a Troy free float handguard

Well, the best hope would have been her and/or Obummer not being relected. Given that failed, the best bet is to bombard your senators/reps should the bill come to fruition, and hope that Obummer doesn't try to railroad it through with an exec order..

Ok so I just ordered this PSA rifle.

    http://www.classicfirearms.com/long-guns/palmetto-state-armory-ar-15-rifle-m4-optic-ready-w-fn-barrel

I also added a magpul flip up rear sight, I want to get good with open sights before an optic. I am going to go ahead and apologize for the complete noob questions but I have to ask them as this is the first AR I have bought. My first question about a drop in rail system vs. a rail that allows the barrell to free float, how does that a free floating make the gun more accurate? Any benefit to a drop in other than cost?

I am hoping to pick up an aimpoint at the gun show in a few weeks even though I wont be shooting with it right off the bat. I watched the video of shaving down the front iron sight instead of getting a low profile gas block also. My question from all of that is this: can I install some sort of quad rail up front and keep the front iron and have that work with the aimpoint I want to install later down the road?

Will this 9" Troy battlerail work with what I want to do?

Freefloating a barrel lets the barrel ride free of pressures caused by your hand on the handguard.

Honestly, if you're asking, you don't need to freefloat your rifle right now. Maybe get yourself a nice set of MOE handguards.

You need a 7" battle rail to keep the FSP on a carbine gas system like you ordered. The 2nd rifle you posted is a mid length gas system. I really like the troy handguards, I specifically buy the Vtac version of the Alpha/TRX rail.

Another neat rail is the Troy Charlie and Delta rail, they give lots of real estate for gizmos.

Think it is worth it to wait on purchasing an optic also? What about bulk ammo?

if you're new to ARs, i'd just outfit it w/ iron sights and learn to shoot well w/ those, before putting money into optics... good optics are very expensive, sometimes much more $$$ than the rifle itself... ;)

bulk ammo is good if you know what "brand" you like, works well in your firearm... some guns can be sensitive to different factory ammo... pick up a few boxes of different brands at your local gun shop, or wherever, break the gun in and see which work well for you ;)

The Armory is definitely worth checking out- I'd definitely give them a try. I think I'm going to be up there soon, because I need to pick up some things for home defense. Figuring on a new shotgun, but not sure what exactly to get.

Keep this in mind when it comes to order of importance, specific to optics. Optics will most likely never get banned. So buy the shit that will.
