    I mounted mine there also. My dash speedo is slow by two, so the need to look down isnt that often. I was being cheap also.

    Not illegal to have an odo that reads low due to tires. By federal regulation a speedo/odo only has to be within 10% of actual.

    I would do a comparison between the stock circumference and the oversized tire circumference. My tires are 7% larger. That means my speedo reads 7% slow.

    That translates to 20 mph = 21.4
    30 = 32.1
    40 = 42.8
    70 = 74.9

    So I put the cruise on the speed limit and let the oversized tires soak up the rest

    Ok, so calibrating the distance changes the speed reading? Easy, thanks.
    Ill debate it; I thought it was illegal though. $45 isnt much but I may just cal my Ultra G. Its just that I habitually drive by the speedo :rolleyes:

    Short version, not in Newport News.

    City code dealing with loud noises states if it can be heard from more than fifty feet away (like your car horn for example) then it is a public nuisance. But here is where it gets stupid.

    Maximum penalties include a fine not to exceed $500, and/or no more than 6 months confinement in jail......
