So, I ordered a 2013 DC TRD Sport, and I want to order an OME Suspension Lift Kit before my truck gets here so I can lift it the same day, but I don't know how many leaf springs it has.

I asked the dealer and he said, "The TRD Sport rear leaf springs are 3 major and one minor for a total of 4 springs." So, does that mean that I need to order the TSB aal? Do any of you guys with 2013 DC Sports also have 4 leafs?

Also, what weight spring should I go? Is the 886 really that stiff?

    Thanks.

Go with 886's if you have or plan on getting bumper/winch.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
886s are stiffer and are designed for tacomas with added weight like a plate bumper or armor. 885s would probably be a better choice if you are not adding extra weight.

886 springs are pretty stiff and will give you a lot of lift if you don't have any extra weight up front. They are designed to hold up the ARB bumper and a winch.

The 885 are too stiff for me thinking about switching out for the 884s.

884's have the same spring rate, they're just shorter.

I want to get a full 3" and level in the rear. I was planning on getting 885s with a top spacer.

The dealer said something about getting the stiffest springs because it is better when you are towing or haling junk. Does that mean 886s? I don't plan on getting a winch or bumper.

Stick with the 885's if you aren't adding a bumper and winch

    Not true

884 and 885's share the same rate

    886's are stiffer

Thanks for all the info on spring rates. I've been doing some more reading, and some guys put on extended brake lines. Is that required?

886s have a higher spring rate than the 884s and 885s.

You might want to consider getting the Dakar spring pack. I have those and 886 coils.

    Says he has 3 + the overload , that's the " TSB " pack

The 2012-13 Sports come with the 4 leaf " TSB " leaf springs stock

Not yet..............I need to build one or buy one. Same with a rear bumper/tire carrier. I like a stiffer ride in my trucks.

Adding another 200 lbs to the front isn't enough to settle the springs significantly. A 660 pound per inch spring rate means it takes 660 lbs to compress it an inch, 1320 lbs for 2 inches, 1980 lbs for 3 inches, etc.

Where the stiffer springs help is in rough roads when the extra weight up front creates greater forces.
