I started this thread, took me a couple of months to decide if the SC was a good buy. I had Toyota West here in Columbus order mine about 20 minutes ago. Its coming from a warehouse 120 miles away, so it will be here tomorrow. I am waiting to hear when the lead tech can get my 2012 TX PRO in to install it.

Supercharger, Fit Kit, Install, tax included = $4900 out the door.

    Tacoma has 5200 miles

Install is set for Monday. I am out of town until Monday night, so dropping it off at dealer Friday evening, will pick up when I return. I will post pic and video.

Mine was supposed to be done yesterday, but they called at 4pm and said they needed more time and the install would run into today.

I should be getting a call around 2 or 3pm to come and pick it up.

Alright guys. Got my Taco back. SC sounds awesome. To early to judge boost and power gain. I hear its a 1000 mile break in period then it does better. I drove it about 3 miles and gave it all it had. The whin is great. Boost isn't much. Maybe I wa expecting it to pin me to the seat.
More to come on this. I will provide a real review of what it does. Next is a boost gauge for the actual boost port. See what we are getting.
    $4854 tax included installed.
Posted from my phone. Please excuse brevity.

you should see approx. 7lbs of boost with the stock supercharger more with pulleys, intake and exhaust will free up more power but you will see a drop in boost pressure but because your betting better flow your making power more efficiently

Going to get a boost gauge today.
The SC is cool, the whine is cool. But, I can say this for sure, unless something changes and the power increase becomes more apparent I can not recommend spending $5000 on this device.

If you are rich and wont miss $5k at all, sure, do it. But if you are saving and saving finally get enough money and spend it on this, do not expect a large power boost. I really dont notice anything at all. If the truck didnt whine I would really know anything had changed.

I have read for a year that it would add a large amount of power, be very noticeable and even Gadget has great things to say about it. Maybe I expected to much.

Not trying to piss anyone off. But I do think other on TW that already spend $5k or more on the 4.0 liter Supercharger should have posted this info.

Its very cool, sounds awesome but thats about it. I expected the thing would smoke my tires at least.

Before anyone says it, yes, its installed correctly. I had the best Toyota tech in Ohio do the job for me. He has done many.

Well, with the stock intake and other stock supporting mods, you aren't even making 300 whp and just possibly 300 wtq.

You have quite a bit of restriction before and after the new S/C. So it is quite easy to see why you feel so under impressed.

I have a very strong feeling that if you went and dyno'd your truck, the graph and numbers would look near identical to that of Commanderwiggins' last dyno.

What would you suggest I do next? I cant void my warranty, but I will add anything that wont void it. TRD CAI?

^^^ Read through that thread. Then it will give you a good idea of what is capable with you s/c. As well as what you can or cannot do that would be an obvious mod to "void a warranty."

    Question
Any idea how to add the boost gauge line to boost port? Boost port is not threaded, so I have no idea how to add this now.

Smooth nipple that the vacuum hose slides over.

Thanks. I see that now. Unfortunately that requires a very large vacuum hose. A monster. The Boost gauge came with a super tiny hose. So I ran out and bought fittings, adjust the gauge to accept this hose, added the big hose to the SC port.

When you start the truck the needle runs to the left and hits 20. I can rev it up and it does nothing. It sure never goes to the right to read boost. I never took it on the road. If I actually drive it will the gauge go to the right and read boost?

The gauge says "Boost" on it. I assume its a boost gauge.

Pic of this cheap gauge attached.

if you rev it hard enough with no load you can see the boost spike

Why would it read 20 at idle, for a sec when I first press throttle it jumps down to 10, then at 4000 rpm back to 20? All on the left side, not the right?

Also, what is the difference in the left and ride side readings?

Look at it at wide open throttle. You should see it reading around six or seven PSI

Sounds like your gauge reads vacuum and boost, boost being on the right. And when I first purchased my truck i traded a lancer evo in on it, so I sorta felt the same after a 1000 mile break in and punched it, wasnt too greatly impressed. But I will say i wouldnt have bought a naturally aspirated truck, for me the forced induction is way too much fun with many possibilities. The supercharger makes my taco, it just needs a little extra umph, such as a pulley, but im on the fence bout voiding my warranty. After purchasing my sc i would still recommend trd or the urd SC kit to anyone looking for more power, granted the price is expensive. I mean not trying to be a dick but cant expect our tacos to feel like a ferrari with the power they have stock supercharged. Sorry for not telling you to stay naturally aspirated but im sure you will get over the hole your wallet and begin to enjoy the boost! :D
