guard dogs in 285/70/17 are about 4-6 lbs heavier, per tire, than a similar mud terrain.

exactly. I weighed my 285/70/17 and came up with 64lbs.
Looking up specs in the same size, Firestone MTs come in at 61, KM2s come in at 59 and MTR kevlar at 58.

Just ordered a set of 315/70r17 guard dogs said they are about 2-3 weeks plus shipping, I'm hoping to get them before the first snow storm, so I can test them out

x2. Mine shipped within 2 days even though they quoted the 2-3 weeks. Guess they'd rather be on the safe side and make you happy when they arrive sooner.

Was planning to get new tires in March. May need to bump up the timing just a bit if a GB happens. Was already planning to get treadwrights as well. Sweet!

Too bad not all companies or vendors honor such a great shipping policy. I mean, they promise the product within a certain amount of time and they beat that, holy crap, now that's customer service. Unlike some companies that will promise certain things/products months out and still extend those wait times by months and months.

I loved my experience with treadwright and look forward to dealing with them again I'm the future. Just passed 1000 miles on mine and they are still riding great.

X2. I forget how many are on mine. I can look and see when I bought them but they prolly have 15-17k on them. One would not balance and they sent another fast with no questions asked.

Has anyone ordered a set with the "kedge Grip"? Wondering how much it would effect durability. Considering a set of Wardens but they are back ordered.
