it turns on and off with your ignition switch, taking power through the OBD port from the computer. dont know how it would kill the battery!

I think mine says 63 or 64 available gauges. Maybe 62. Idk its somewhere around there.
mine shows mph. Are you just going based off the default gauges that display or have you actually gone onto the main list of all available gauges in the menu and looked for it? Also just for reference, I'm on am '09 v6 DC.

That's odd. It should turn on/off with the engine. Mine doesn't even turn on in the accessory position. Engine has to be running. It starts up and shuts down instantly with the engine.

Oh okay that must be my problem. I havent gone through any gauges, just looked at default. Thanks i'll check that out in the later today. And as far as it using power when the truck is off this is what i observed...>> When i first plugged mine up i had my keys in my pocket and went through the set up with the truck completely off. So maybe it could use power?? :notsure:

Yes +1 on the power upon initial plug in. When you first plug it in, it will boot up regardless of the key position or engine power. The OBD II port is a constant source of power directly to the ECU, so it will work for initial programming. After that however, it should shut on/off with engine only. If your screen stays on, then it using power. If your screen goes off, then it shouldn't drain the battery at all.

It will not turn off if you are in the menu section. The auto off feature only works from the main screen. It is in the manual if someone wants to research it.

Here is the link to the "Gauge Availability Estimator" from UG's website.

    http://ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/support/gaugelookup.php

You can dial in your truck model year etc., then cycle down through the list and find your truck based on production date and a comprehensive list of available gauges is shown. I went through this list and developed my particular list for my 7 pages which I previously posted. Nice reference when trying to determine your options without sitting out in the driveway and running the battery down or burning fuel with the engine on.

Sooo, where to mount this without the windshield mount? probably the stupidest way to save money, to not buy the mount. They want 9.85 for mount and 8.95 for shipping after the fact... I cant seem to find a good place on 2013 dash for velcro. very very stupid of me. [IMG][IMG] any ideas?

In the first few pages on here someone took the clip off a tape measure and screwed it to the case that attaches to the back of the gauge. Then they slid the clip up under the headliner. You could try that ::notsure::
