Passport requirement to Canada

Looking to drive to vancouver from Los angeles. Do I need a passport to go into Canada and return? Mine has expired for sometimes.

My wife and I spent a few days in Toronto over the summer... DEFINITELY need the Passport.

I think the renewal process (if no changes are needed) is relatively quick and painless.

You can use your old passport to streamline the renewal process. If you don't want to pay $170 fee for a passport you can apply for a travel card fo $50 that allows you to travel by ground to Canada or to Mexico. A passport is only needed if you travel by air.

Although, it was easier getting into Canada, it was harder getting back into the U.S. We got flagged to secondary.....where you sit in a waiting room while the dogs sniff out your car!!

 

Been there, Jennie and i have taken the ferry from Port Angeles Washington to Victoria a few times.. Sticky Wicket nice little pub in the Strathcona Hotel were we would always stay
