Hope you just want it for a bike rack. I wouldn't tow with a single tube.

it is.....but why would it make a difference if the are still gussets and support tubes running off the hitch? and if i used 2" tube.

You're still in school right? Take a physics class, learn about rotational force (aka torque).

A dirtbike hitch transporter would be even worse, as there would a massive moment being created in the square tubing about the 2.0" tube. As the load is supported by nothing but the hitch tube itself.

I'm with the Berry on this one.

A properly designed hitch is quite simple, but takes a little more thought and analysis then just a square tube through/attached to a round piece of tube.

    ^Engage truck....just saying. ;)

Two horizontal tubes to sandwich the hitch + two vertical tubes also sandwiching the hitch + to an extra tube wrapped around the front of the hitch (to counter rotational force) as well as an extra cross member on the rear of the hitch (to counter rotational force).

Someone gets it. Just gotta close your eyes and picture where the force is going to be applied and add strengthen accordingly.
Guess that's the difference between those who build their trucks and those who pay someone to do it. :D

Does anyone actually tow with LT rear? I would assume you need a drop hitch to get the trailer anywhere near level and then I'm afarid when I hit a good g-out in the road it will bottom out the hitch on the road

When I moved, I towed probably 1/4 of my house with this little trailer and the Tacoma.
