got the add a leaf installed today, it actually lifted the rear like 2.5'', i think it'll settle after a lil while right? but is it normal to be so high?

Should settle a bit. Pretty sure that's what my AAL did to mine. Them realized my leads were shit and got a whole new leaf pack from All Pro. Love it!

 

My Silverado had ceramic brakes with 95,000 miles on it when I got rid of it and the pads still had another 50,000 + miles left in them!!!!

 

Anyone over near the mall at millennia or mid florist tech want to catch lunch today? Thinking around 11:30ish. Let me know ASAP.

 

Jim, what are your priorities in for brakes? do you want something with stock stopping power and good longevity, or something that stops a little better but won't last quite as long?

Something that stops on a dime and gives 8c change, My pal is a ford tech and he says the taco needs ceramic pads on the front. My & the Better half have heavy right feet and there has been more then one close call.

 

I have ceramic pads on my truck and love them - almost give me a whiplash when I step on it too hard, but when I need them they are there.

 

Try EBC pads. not ceramic, but very nice. the "yellow stuff" pads will lock up all 4 no problem, but probably only last about 35k. the "green stuff" pads will stop better than stock, and probably get you about 50k.
I replaced my rotors and pads last winter. used green stuff pads. definately an improvement. with how heavy my truck has gotten and the amount I tow, i'll get the yellow stuff pads next. Pads are pretty cheap, so i don't mind replacing them more often.

So... right side wheel bearings completely shot and right side caliper was frozen up. So another 100 bucks down the drain.

I did the add a leaf in mine. It's was supposed to level my truck at "3 inches". I had about an inch or so of rake, took the overload leaf out and it leveled the truck out. It's been a month and mine hasn't broken in yet.

 

lil bit of rake ain't bad

 

form some angles it looks pretty even, but it measures over an inch difference, so it's not bad, i do need bigger tires though
